Mark D
It’s seems the Chinese scale model manufacturers have not yet found this web site. For if they have they might have learned that an inline six 201 motor doesn’t have chrome valve covers. Don’t know why I never looked under the hood of my scale model diecast cars before. Go Fleiter
They will tell You a fantastic story, approved by the PRC government. As they do with the legend regarding their (now militarily closed) bat caves and the origin of covid 19.... Greetings from Düsseldorf! Go Edited January 5, 2021 by Go Fleiter I confused POC and PRC :))

Plymouthy Adams
not sure if I would call this artistic interpretation or artistic liberties on an extremely slippery slope....am sure it looked good on paper and the outer shell is not that bad a representation...that engine though....hybrid for sure
Flatie46
AMT makes a 41 Plymouth 1/25th scale model kit. Your gonna need to buy one of those kits, build the engine and swap it in to remedy this.
plymjim
Chinese hybrid? VERY small block Chevy? In any case, something to keep the purists & the roders guessing.

PT81PlymouthPickup
If your going to swap engines, might as well go for a hemi. Of course you could go small block chevy. You already have the valve covers. Frank Elder might give you some grief though. Lols!
Andydodge
As a long time model builder of 55yrs or so and former owner of a hobby shop for 20 yrs specialising in plastic car, truck & aircraft kits may I venture a comment or two on this model.....lol..........being diecast its not steel.......its a Zinc alloy......also the AMT 1/25th scale kit when first issued in the late 1970's could only be built stock, then a revised kit was issued with a V8 and chrome wheels and since then EVERY reissue of this 1/25th plastic kit has.included both 6, V8, stock & hotrod options in the one box.............. ................so looking at that engine concoction I'd venture to say that whoever was trusted to cut the molds(someone in China no doubt), combined both the AMT stock side valve & hotrod V8 parts and has no real knowledge or experience with the 1:1 car.............lol............the use of the AMT kit as a base is also strengthened in my mind by the overly thick headlight surrounds which are a key feature of the 1/25th scale AMT plastic kit in ALL its iterations.......further strengthening my thoughts as to the origin of this models tooling......... .........I'm curious as to the scale and brand of this model...apart from the engine bay it looks pretty good......don't suppose I can order one in burgundy,RHD with chrome wheels and grey interior?...........lol.............oh......and a Fulton visor?............lol.....andyd,

Kids would have to have a lot bigger allowance than mine. I used to buy three a month during my 13 to 16 years. But they were less than 2 bucks if I remember right. Some where in the basement there are probably 3 nib and 4 or 5 works in progress. Real cars started gobbling the cash when I got my learner's permit.
greg g
One of mine was a yellow 28 two door Model A with a 4bbl slant six, with home built headers. I also made a Allison powered rear engine dragster made from and engine nacell from a P 38 (Art Arrfons eat yer heart out.)

Andydodge
Regarding the price increases.........if you check what the fuel price was back then with a kit price back then and compare the fuel price now with todays kit price its generally relative...........a plastic kit is just a reconfigured lump of oil.......plus the model market is now maybe less than a 1/4 of what it used to be due to lots of other things to amuse kids........videos,computers,etc, etc..........some of us still build models..........since March last year I have completed 45 or 46 kits......still have 270 car and 75 aircraft kits to go........attached is a pic of the Tower of Model Boxes, ones that I've done since March...........lol................Andy Douglas
