pflaming
A new day has dawned! I made it through the DMV this morning with no problems. I still need to get it weighed, and have the CHP issue new numbers and plates, but I have a 30 day permit and all's good to go. I AM STOKED. Now to do a lot of test driving so I can make the BBQ in the sky!

Don Coatney
SWEET!!! Congratulations Paul! All the hard work has paid off! I am looking forward to seeing pictures of your truck at the BBQ! Plymouthy Adams
Don, I was more concerned of the "BBQ in the sky" comment....
52b3b Joe
Do you mean he is only taking pictures of his truck to the bbq? Nope, just that it will be at the BBQ! Just my jealousy rubbing off in my typing! Some day I too hope too make it out there! Although if pictures can only be had there, then take LOTS. wallytoo
good news, paul. curiously, i find it odd that many states seem to allow vehicles on the road, legally, without wipers. no chance of that in NH, unless the vehicle was manufactured without them (motorcycles obviously). wally
B1B Keven
Do you mean he is only taking pictures of his truck to the bbq? Huh? Congrats Paul!!! See ya at the BBQ.
pflaming
In CA the legal issues are by the DMV. Then to the CHP, but not til it's legal. There is a speed sign here in town. My Speedo says 20 MPH, the sign says 30MPH. So I will have to see where the other mph's are and have Kevin make me a new face. Still lots of detail but now I can start road testing it. Oil pressure is 40# and steady the temp at 160 degrees, so that is promising. Brakes are a bit spongy so will bleed them again.
Jeff Balazs
Good on you Paul; I sure wish I was that far along. Somebody asked me today how it was going. The way things have been around here lately... ...I just want to get in it and go. And not come back! Jeff Have fun and enjoy it......you've earned it. Young Ed
good news, paul. curiously, i find it odd that many states seem to allow vehicles on the road, legally, without wipers. no chance of that in NH, unless the vehicle was manufactured without them (motorcycles obviously). wally Yes MN law requires wipers too. However we have no vehicle inspections. So Paul could just have gotten his plates and taken his chances on getting stopped.
TodFitch
good news, paul. curiously, i find it odd that many states seem to allow vehicles on the road, legally, without wipers. no chance of that in NH, unless the vehicle was manufactured without them (motorcycles obviously). wally California requires at least one wiper on a car/truck if it has a windshield: Windshield Wipers 26706. (a) Every motor vehicle, except motorcycles, equipped with a windshield shall also be equipped with a self-operating windshield wiper. ( B Every new motor vehicle first registered after December 31, 1949, except motorcycles, shall be equipped with two such windshield wipers, one mounted on the right half and one on the left half of the windshield, except that any motor vehicle may be equipped with a single wiper so long as it meets the wiped area requirements in Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards Governing Windshield Wiping and Washing Systems. © This section does not apply to snow removal equipment equipped with adequate manually operated windshield wipers. And all cars are required to have windshields if they came with them: Windshields: Exception 26700. (a) Except as provided in subdivision ( B, a passenger vehicle, other than a motorcycle, and every bus, motortruck or truck tractor, and every firetruck, fire engine or other fire apparatus, whether publicly or privately owned, shall be equipped with an adequate windshield. ( B Subdivision (a) does not apply to any vehicle issued identification plates pursuant to Section 5004 which was not required to be equipped with a windshield at the time it was first sold or registered under the laws of this state, another state, or foreign jurisdiction. But there is no annual equipment inspection so that type of thing can slide by for years.

Scruffy49
Good deal! I remember the first time I drove mine in 94 I couldn't get over the fact it was moving under its own power for the first time since 1974. I'm sure it will need all kinds of "fun" inspections to be licensed here when it is running again, still has 1974 tabs on it... and was titled under the block number instead of the cab serial number... Wish I could drive mine out there and join the fun. Maybe in a couple years, have to find another off farm job first. Looks great Paul. Now you just need a period correct cooler and picnic hamper in the bed...
Jim Shepard
Can't wait to see you and your truck. Sounds like it's going to be a real nice ride up from the south area. I might have 3-4 guys coming with me from the north...
