If I understand it correctly, it is used more as a dust shield than a gasket for oil.

This may or may not help. You can recreate it with felt. One side has felt near top edge. Other side has felt around inner circle.

I'll second with staying with the original patina. Save your money for: Jeep cherokee rear axle Disk brakes Duel master cylinder 6 volt alternator Glass rubber, door seals and a new interior. No matter which way you go, welcome aboard. You'll find everything you need to know on this forum.

I don't know what the rest of the truck looks like, but the front end looks great. If the axle shaft is too boogered up to repair, there are replacements to be had or do a jeep cherokee axle replacement. Either way, I would buy that truck in a heartbeat. Too far North for me ? ( Do I see a possible factory rear view mirror mount ?)

Never mind. I reread your first post. It obviously idles, but stumbles when you give it gas.

Check to make sure your distributor is not 180 degrees off. Then check if your firing sequence is correct.

Just a thought, but maybe it would be easier and cheaper to change up your disc brake conversion to allow the use of origin hubs or something similar. I'm running original wheels on a disc conversion from rusty hope. You may have to back up and redo instead of chasing expensive wheels. IMHO
