  1. Took a cruise up highway 9 into the redwoods. Stopped by for a visit with James Dean at the iconic Brookdale lodge.
  2. I have not gone back to it yet. I will check for leaks next. I feel that I'm going to need to go through both carbs and maybe start from scratch with the why setup.
  3. I have a unisyn tool. Syncing the carbs is not the problem. The problem is that I think I'm running too lean. I have to pull my choke out a quarter or it will die at idle. If I can't read the vacuum, I don't have any other way to adjust the idle mixture except by trial and error.
  4. Having trouble adjusting the idle mixture. I have a duel carb aluminum intake from George Asche. With the aluminum intake, I've lost the vacuum port. I've tried to use the vacuum port on both of the carbs and get no reading at idle. The RPM's at idle are at 500. The vacuum gauge will show a reading when I excelerate.
  5. Though charming to look at, I've heard that they are quite a nuisance, chewing things up.
  6. A rack to display your collectors addition 1977 Star Wars plates from Pizza Hut?
  7. I upload photos to the forum directly from my phone. I use a photo resizer app which allows me to post multiple photos.
  8. I thought I've heard of Winona.
  9. Ok. Now, you wait until about 5min before the end of the auction and bid 10-20$ higher then the max bid. That's how you win without running up the price. Again, good luck!
  10. https://www.ebay.com/itm/264724171144 Good luck!
  11. Just got my Wuzhi 100W amplifier in the mail. Pieced it together in my lazyboy. Anybody have suggestions on speakers and speaker locations?
  12. I found mine on eBay. Keep looking, you'll find one ?
  13. It's called poaching an auction. You put down a high bid in the last few seconds to win the last bid without raising the price. Right or wrong, that's how the game is played. I was poached several times before I figured it out ?
  14. I had my fuel pump fail recently. The pin worked itself out and the arm fell off. The crank ground the arm into the pan, almost punching a hole. I recently put in an electric pump as a backup. The machinal pump was only a year old. I will rely on my electric fuel pump from now on.
  15. During the age of sheltering in place, it might be a nice zenful practice to lie on your back and scrape away. I would suggest to look in the back of your shop manual and find all the "zirk' grease fittings first and clean and push fresh grease into them. You'll be surprised how many there are.
  16. If you drink six beers and close one eye... It looks like a Duesenberg! ? Just yank'n your chain. Looks like a fun project! Keep us posted. P.S. Once you get it running, you should race Paul's EMPI for pinks. ?
  17. I encourage you to read this thread.
  18. Can you believe that I had the same problem on the same day!? I wasn't as lucky as you were. I went for a Friday Caronavirus cruise. The car seemed to run out of gas even though I had a half a tank. Put 2.5 gallons in that I had I had in the trunk. Turned on the electric fuel pump that I have as a backup to prime the system. Started it up and heard a terrible rattle. Shut it off within a few seconds. At the time, I thought something had fallen into the fan. Searched the engine for the cause and found nothing. Started the engine again and it ran fine. Cluelessly drove it home with no trouble. After a cold beer and a little thought, I deduced the problem. Pulled the pan today. Lucky, besides a little scaring of the oil pan, no discernable damage
  19. I thought that you would get a different reading from the carb port then from a port in the manifold, but I'm usually wrong and confused.
  20. Hard to compare. The original was worn down and burning oil. It may be allusionary, but it seems to have more acceleration and plenty of pedal when I choose to push it. On my 1st long trip (100mls), I got about 15 mpg, but I think it could preform much better. It still seems to run a little rich. I do wish I would have drilled and tapped a port in the intake to run a vacuum gauge.
  21. And then we could race each other up Hyde St!
  22. I remember people were talking about old Volvo's. Thought I would share this local one
