Don,

Good question and I voted no for two reasons:

First is that I occasionally look for a thread that was posted in the last week or two and am afraid that if the two forums weren't separated there would be too much clutter to sift through. Especially since now if I want to go to the truck forum it's simply one mouse click away.

Second reason is that I seem to inadvertently offend folks at this forum and I don't feel the need to open up a whole new audience.

I like the trucks on one side and the cars on the other...as for engine..yeah whats the difference but as we all know there are a myriad of differences that not everyone can relate too...so if you feel llike partaking in both..just a simple click to do so..combine them and the threads will be intemingled and sorting out what you want to read etc gets complicated..same for the parts..nice dividing line there..be nice to see ads drop off and go inactive after 30 days...if nothing is sold by then..relist..keep the ads current..more people may respond..some of these are years old and still active..

I would like them to be separate but if because of costs a reduction is needed so be it. I check both but many times it is easier to find what I am looking for on the truck side as there seems to be less action and it is for the trucks.

No, not because I don't like the truck guys, but because I like them.....they don't need the hassle and headache that comes from the drama that sometimes pops up on this side. They are more into straight information and fixing their trucks than the BS that flows so freely on the carside. So my vote is no.

I vote no because I agree it would add to much congestion to the forum. The way it is now you go to which ever forum you need based on vehicle. I have noticed some members frequent both sides giving advise on cars and trucks.

Don, I already voted in your poll, but the question begs to be asked; is there a specific reason you've set this poll up ??? Cass, alias littlemo ...

I read both sides. Others do the same. I thought it might be easier if the wall were removed. To date the majority says no and I can live with that. But the poll will be open for another 19 days.

I like the car side and the truck side as they are. As someone else pointed out, the truck side pretty much stick to solving problems and helping one another out. The car side does this as well but the threads tend to drift. And there are more off topic stuff on the car side. I read every word on the truck side but I tend to page to the end on the car side so it is quick. I do slow down for off topic stuff because those threads get pretty funny.

I voted 'no', but am open to a combined forum as well. I agree that the forum has a nice amount of traffic, and combining the two sides would throw all of that into one place. Sometimes it is difficult to find an even fairly recent post, if there is a lot of traffic, and you have to go to a previous page. Some have also suggested adding additional divisions, but while the ones who know what they are about will get their posts in the proper place (except for the few times when they are a bit out of it), some will get their posts in the wrong place, like another forum that covers all makes, and you have a question about a Chevy in the MoPar section. (I know it happens here, too - questions about other makes, or a more general question, but those posts are 99.9% of the time marked as Off Topic as well.)

I ocassionally read stuff in the truck section, especially if I see something about a mechanical issue, or something else which is applicable to the cars as well (like body work, fo rinstance).

As many others, I also voted "NO", just because the forum is the best of the net in the way it is as it is... Also, because I am not especially interested in trucks or pickups. However, I belive the people do make the forum waht it is and the truck people are as fine fellows as the car people, thus I do belive the forum in it self would be just as good, only the subjects would be a bit more mixed and harder to find(?).

In case combining the forums would help by cutting costs - I would vote "YES"

The important thing is to keep this fine site going STRONG.

Absolutely NO! Keep em separate.

Like a lot of us I visit both. I actually like the truck forum more as it seems to avoid the drama thats seen on the car side at times. So my thoughts are to keep them separate.

Huh...your post kinda stuck with me Frank.

I feel the truck side is growing more each year, where we have lagged behind in the number of posters and builders vs the car side. I also believe the "OT Thread" is growing because so many trucks are getting finished. I voted "no"...but as the differences become less, would change my vote to a "yes". Good poll Don.

I use the seach tool almost everyday and if it was all one forum it would be a lot harder to find what I'm looking for on my truck. For instance, if I seached "tail light", I would be digging through all the car stuff to find the truck stuff. I look on both sides all the time and they have great information but I think separated they are better resources.

I voted NO to the question because I think having the cars & trucks lumped together would just cloud the issue.(s)..

If I have a question pertaining to trucks and/or cars I will go to that forum and omit having to wade through all of the threads that do not pertain to the info I am searching for.

I don't see the need to combine them. When I sign on I just click on "new Posts" in the grey header at the top and I can view both forums posts.
