  1. I've got about 20k miles on my rebuild and they've never been touched. I think the guy that set them knew what he was doing. My 48 was a new engine to him! I keep thinking someday I should check them...
  2. That's right some dodges have studs so no pilot hole. I drilled pilot holes in some aftermarket rims without too much difficulty and got them to fit
  3. Bob anything else you're missing? It's in pretty poor shape but there is one of those in the junkyard here
  4. I haven't used it yet but I've got a brake hose from a more modern vehicle that is supposed to be a direct replacement.
  5. And now I'll get that chance for a better look at the flywheel.... Yesterday afternoon went to fill it with gas for our planned car club fall tour today. When I went to leave the pump -click click from the starter. We tried jumping it from a nice guy with a brand new hemi ( I think it was a durango) but as I thought battery wasn't the problem. Then I remembered hearing stories about guys knocking their starters with sticks. Well lacking any sticks I used my tire iron. Couple light jabs were all I could do but it started! I tried it a few more times throughout the evening and it continues to be intermittent. So no trip for me and starter will likely be coming back out.
  6. Pre 57 should all be the same tooth count. I believe blue skies got his from vintage power wagons. Their site shows them at $75 probably close to 100 after shipping
  7. Is that a special model? My snap on one only has 3 legs
  8. I believe the most logical solution is to get a 230 flywheel which compensates for the crank diff. If you search way way back in the forum you should see some posts from blue skies about it.
  9. Are you using a 201 flywheel or 230?
  10. Not sure about a later spring but I recall someone on the early days of the forum using a wall thermometer spring.
  11. If you want a pitstop off 35 let me know
  12. Ya the first one on my 46 lasted about 16 years but the second only 2. Hopefully the third behaves like the first!
  13. Looks like the choke is MIA they mounting area appears to have a broken fastener on the right edge of this photo
  14. Well you gotta have something to hunt for. They are out there
  15. IDK if they will believe you but that is how they were built. The rocker stainless hides the difference
  16. My p15 ate the first set of king pins I installed. When I was doing the second they said the uprights were worn. I now wonder if your oversized pins were either proper for them or designed to save them
  17. FYI p23 engines were used in both 51 and 52 model year cars. And all 51-52s got a p23 engine even if the car was a p22.
  18. That is an awesome looking driveway!
  19. Yup there are 2. I believe there were setups that mounted to either pad on the manifold.
  20. If the longer pin would fit and allow a clip on each side I would suggest using that versus the short one. The most common mode of failure is that pin working its way out and then allowing the arm to fall apart.
  21. 5k is a cheap paint job too. Keep at it and you'll likely end up just as good or better.
  22. Factory under hood locations are a special headbolt that is taped for a bolt or one of the generator mount bolts.
  23. Update: about a minute after I posted that wifey got a call and the dog has gone home. They are new to the neighborhood and apparently she tunneled under the fence and had a couple hour adventure.
  24. I didn't notice any but now that you say that Im wishing I'd looked a little better
  25. We had a fire tonight too. Roasted hotdogs and the kids had smores. Then the real adventure began when a lose dog wandered into the yard. So far unsuccessful in finding the owner.
