  1. You can see the square where the original bolt was cutoff. Knock that baby out of there and put in a fresh carriage bolt. Couple tacks to hold it and you're back in business. I think for the ones where I couldn't sneak the bolt in I cut one side and bent it enough to sneak it in and just welded the slot when I did the bolt
  2. Pro tip. If you have a bunch of transmissions and go hunting through them for the proper gear to match the 3.73 you swapped into your coupe make sure you reinstall all the wrong ones correctly. Otherwise later on when Dad goes to install one of those in place of the OD he's not selling with the 50 Plymouth bad things will happen to the new owner. Like the tail housing exploding....
  3. That number doesn't come up in my 51 Mopar parts book so it looks like your 49-50 only is right. I just inherited a bunch of Dads books I'll see if he has a 50 Plymouth parts book
  4. Do you have a part number? If it fits 49 or 51-52 or Plymouth you'd have a much bigger net.
  5. I was able to put carriage bolts and take them to the original brackets. I think on some of them I was able to wiggle them in and on some I had to manipulate the bracket to get the bolt in.
  6. You should be able to get a bellhousing from a non fluid drive and be good to go with the swap. Might have to go to a Plymouth as the source though as I'm not sure there was a non fluid drive dodge
  7. How about a slightly different issue. Same 6v only the car is Dads 55 Chrysler. Turns that big old hemi pretty slow. But lots more stuff to worry about if trying to convert. So far plan is to try and improve the 6v and make it work a little better
  8. As far as I know but I haven't been up that way since last summer
  9. Looks like my 48 stuff and I think they used it for many years
  10. It's very old but I should have a thread on here from rewiring my 48 with some pictures of the dash.
  11. I'm sure it's sometimes a bandaid. My 48 had toast wiring. I pulled the entire harness and rebuilt it using modern wiring. As an upgrade and to consolidate sizes all the 16 went to 14. I've now put about 30k miles on it with the 6v system.
  12. Here in MN we've had a crazy almost snowless winter. Until last week when we got nailed! My snow blower broke towards the end of the third driveway we were doing so it'll be my first restoration project this season
  13. My 48 had one headlight stamped nov 1948 on the back. I also assume it is the original. I have it stashed too and put 2 new ones in.
  14. Awesome looking wheel cover. I was thinking of doing that to my 64 but for the opposite reason. My wheel sucks and I want to pretty it up.
  15. Found the old post on the 39-47 IO Group. The bumper is a 48-56 Ford stepside rear bumper. Part number 49-4950 primered bumper $99.95 .
  16. I believe it was a Ford F1 bumper that was used. Might have been a front also
  17. I wonder what the gearing was for that car?
  18. Project for sure but it looks pretty good for sitting for so long!
  19. The truck pumps stick out further than the car ones but the top is also clockable so I would think you could fit it.
  20. The 39-47 trucks are very much setup to be easily converted to RHD. The instruments and glove box swap. The cab has provisions for the steering column to move and the frame has the mounts for the box.
  21. I don't know for 49s but 50-52s which share quite a bit with the 49s had ivory wheels.
  22. Next time the issue happens try pouring water on the fuel pump.
  23. Thanks look forward to it. I had mine out of the car twice in 2022 trying to seal it up. I replaced the gasket for the input shaft and thoroughly cleaned and resealed the trans to bellhousing.
