  1. It would go between the trans and diff and have a separate way to engage it's gearset. Look up gear vendors as they are the most common brand
  2. No bolt in options on the transmission side. You could swap for a better diff ratio. Beyond converting to an overdrive transmission there are stand alone overdrive units that some people run.
  3. Correct weight distribution/ placement is the key. When it's just a block the weight isn't in the sweet spot. The overall winner was just a thin slice of wood with all the weight right in front of the rear wheels
  4. The butter car actually came in third which is pretty good for just racing a block
  5. The Daytona.
  6. It's very easy to get carried away. I spent a few hours making mine and most of the people there didn't get the reference.
  7. Another derby just wrapped up. Everyone in the family took home an award of some kind except me! Good thing I had a hand in all 5 builds.
  8. These aren't hydraulic. There is an electric motor with 2 cables that run out to a lift screw.
  9. I think I would start by confirming power at the motor. I believe you just need to pull the back seat bottom to get at it however Dad's 51 convertible hasn't had a functional power top for a long time.
  10. My vans seem to break unusual pieces that are dealer or junkyard only items. Last summer I had a broken rear coil spring and the alignment cam bolts were seized with rust. I had a pair of springs shipped from a metal friendly state and bought all the cam bolts stuff from the local dealer. Those were some expensive bolts too!
  11. Mine only has the windlace on the cab edge.
  12. I watched a YouTube video about the tragic story of that giant santa
  13. You guys are talking about two different things. Below the carb is the heat riser. Towards the firewall also on the exhaust manifold is the automatic choke for the carb.
  14. Come back to visit MN I'll give you one 😁
  15. I've got the motor mount I think is right for a p15
  16. If stock you would turn the key on, give it a couple pumps of fuel, pull the choke, and then press the starter lever above the gas pedal. With that said being this old some of that could have changed depending on what people have done with it
  17. Welcome to the site. First you're on the car side. While the starting part is basically the same as a car you'll do better putting truck stuff on the truck part of the forum. Now are you saying you are trying to start it and it won't? Or looking for how to revive it safely and attempt to start it?
  18. We do need some clarification on this. To me the bushings go in the spindle and the upright(what the kingpin attaches the spindle to) is what gets dropped on these cars. My uprights were worn on my 48 and I got used ones to replace them.
  19. I remember you finding a set but not why I didn't get them
  20. One of my to-do items is figure out how to fix the parking brake on Dad's old 55 Chrysler. His is the New Yorker deluxe with the 332 hemi!
  21. If it's an automatic make sure the parking brake works. They don't have park in the transmission. Beyond that it's the usual rockers quarters etc for rust. Also which v8? The hemi would be expensive to rebuild if it's not a runner.
  22. Wow 41 with the California low headlights. I'm still hunting for a set of those lower stainless bars.
  23. You should be able to fit a tumbler and key set to your existing switch pretty easily
  24. https://www.ebay.com/itm/173002793410?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=JXn8xyoHQqK&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=jPrPlFMQQw2&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY This is the heater style but it would work. A call into them might find out they have the other style too. And it's cheaper to not order via ebay
  25. Mine was from Napa but that was probably 15 years ago.
