  1. IDK if it was $ or the challenge but I'm on my second rebuilt out of the garbage Honda mower. Neither house I've had was big enough to need a rider but I salvaged these push mowers. First one way back had a bent crankshaft and at the time I had a buddy that worked at a hardware store and got me the parts cheap. Swapped in the new crank along with blade and blade adapter and had an expensive mower for about $40. Second time another one with bent crank. This time no discount parts available but found a second mower with good motor and bad deck for $30 and made 1 out of 2. Now if we're hurrying the wife and I will both mow. Soon the boys will be able to chime in.
  2. Wow that die system should be great. Mine could use some pressing too
  3. My 94 Dad bought new. I bought it from him in 2000 with 80k on it and ran it up to 230k. It needs major repairs now
  4. From what I recall you need a 56 only starter. Otherwise you would need to use a 57-60? starter and matching flywheel or have a 56 gear put in the later starter.
  5. Even the actual bumper doesn't really cover the end of the frame. However I'd encourage you to reconsider since you've done so much I'd hate to see it get dinged
  6. We might all know them as driveshafts now but my 94 Dakota shop manual still calls it a propeller shaft
  7. Just over grease them and then the first time Dad goes to leave they fall apart... At least that's how I accidentally did it once on the 50 Plymouth
  8. Why no fender washers?? I used a kit that I believe had a sort of bowtie shaped piece with a fixed nut on it
  9. You guys all need one of these to mow with
  10. No pics but group 25 in the W series parts book is platform and stake. Shows 9 beds /parts
  11. For the W series the ones with that wheel arch are dodge beds
  12. Interesting most of them look like 2 doors either business coupes or sedans. They must not have been willing to step up to the 4drs
  13. Dorman 614-001 Uni-Fit C.V. Joint Boot Kit Outer I got mine from Amazon- they are currently $16.
  14. I bought a pair of modern generic CV joint boots that I was able to use on my P15 joints. It's only been one season so I can't 100% say they are the solution but they sure seemed up to the task.
  15. I'm not aware of new ones available other than old stock. I did buy a couple off eBay way back when.
  16. I believe you are right also and it's a bullet connection. I have a few motors but none are installed in a truck.
  17. Nope runs every summer but I don't recall doing it or knowing it should be done on either of my flatheads
  18. Mine come out Saturday regardless of snow......
  19. Do you know what type of assembly lube was used? The engine in my 46 truck was in my Dad's 51 convert before and was removed at 172 miles because it wiped the bearings. At the time they said it was gunk in the galley that didn't get cleaned but part of me wonders how much of it was sitting for so many years while the rest of the car was rebuilt. For the cost of a few gaskets you could have piece of mind. Another option pressurize the oil system before trying to start.
  20. Not the prettiest harness but it doesn't look corroded or damaged. Any idea when it was redone as that's certainly not OEM
  21. Agree if the 6v harness is in good condition will handle 12v fine. If it's not you can get a generic wiring harness off eBay for about $40. If you already have the alternator I think the rest would just be bulbs. Maybe a step down for any accessories
  22. What about 10-20 years later on??
  23. Crosley based racecar?
  24. A stock W series would have 4 wood cross members with either 6 or 8 large bolts through the bed floor crossmember and the frame. I've never seen a solid reason for why some have 2 more. My trucks I used 8 in both although I know the 47 only had 6 originally. The rubber pieces were clipped to the frame to hold in place.
  25. Only way I would picture that being factory is if your truck was originally a cab and chassis unit.
