  1. If you've got a pretty clogged up one you'll be amazed how much lighter it is when you get it back from being cleaned out.
  2. Don't you typically only ream the bushings not the upright?
  3. From what I remember top is just 4 bolts bumper to frame. Then the spacer piece bolts to the bottom of the frame and bottom bumper.
  4. I have them on 3 of my classics here in MN. My latest trucks I titled together and they have sequential collector plate #s which I might keep.
  5. You and the guys at International harvester. My Dad's 75 scout II is wired in baby blue wire everywhere
  6. Yes it presses into the channel on the frame and the slightly curved edge against the cab
  7. There isn't much too it. 2 hinges at the top of the back and then to pins at the bottom front corners. The two pieces interlock at the back/bottom but aren't connected beyond that.
  8. At least for Mopar they used many colors and the wires had tracers on them that indicated the gauge. Of course when you go to rewire after 70ish years it's hard to see some of that stuff
  9. Yup when I rewired mine I pulled the whole dash! It needed painting anyways but it was certainly easier to make all those connections on the bench
  10. No gasket I've ever seen. The cluster itself does have gaskets inside it.
  11. Not sure who you've been talking to but the orange thing is just friendly rivalry between Mark and I.
  12. That's exactly what's going on. When it needs a good wash and wax it gets more orangy. That red paint is very very old. From what I can tell it's only the second paint job since 46 and it's not even a very good job. They didn't do between cab and bed or inside the bed either.
  13. Mark has issues and thinks my truck is orange....
  14. Great find. Of course I might be a little biased
  15. Your 48 should have been a no pressure system. I think a small amount would be fine but I wouldn't use the supplied cap.
  16. I just did mine last year. Should be pics in my turkey truck build thread.
  17. I looked for one for a couple years before I gave up and put aftermarket signals on my 48.
  18. I can think of at least one worse thing than a bunch of clicks. Personally I just don't see the need for this on the maintenance list. My coupe is approaching 30k since the rebuild on the same head gasket. Horror of horrors I also reused the old head bolts
  19. Now can we discuss the maintenance piece? I've had my flatheads for many many years and miles and have never just randomly retorqued the head. I'm honestly not even sure it was done after the initial build.
  20. I stained mine with ebony to mimic the paint look/ the old days when people oiled their floors. Got a thread on here for my 47
  21. Thanks for the correction I thought it was a nickel someone posted earlier.
  22. This is a leak I've been fighting on my 48 equiped with a 52 overdrive. Next time I mess with it it's getting a nickel pushed into the shift rail.
  23. Yes and my car had the same style in it that I replaced.
  24. I found a chart but I'm not sure if it was here or the 39-47 group. You can kind of back into it if you have your bed steel and the strips. Keep in mind with the strips they aren't all created equal and you need to adjust accordingly
  25. I'm running that exact one in my P15 for 15ish years now.
