  1. Wow, what a stash place for cars in states that have not yet legalized Mary Jane. I Am not a supporter of smoking it period, let alone driving with it! ?. Yes I live in Ca.. Cannot afford to move. ? DJ
  2. Veemoney- For my next project- still on hold- but very very close to get back to working on. Bookmarked both-one for the shrink tubing- way-way cheaper there than in my area now. The other for all -in -one terminal ends-expensive -sort of-but great way to do top of line work quickly. Thanks for the ideas!
  3. Many products are like that these days especially in Calif. Available in some states-not others. The work around here is to get someone in one of the states where the product is still available or ship-able to/ to ship it to their address and arrange for your pickup or forward shipping to where you live. My nephew in Las Vegas ( Lost wages) is willing to help me if needed! Many things like paint products are still available there- Most are Not the water based stuff we are now stuck with here. Maybe a work around for your brother?? Out of state contacts?? PS. do not let Ca. officials know my thoughts as I have never-never used this -Uh, what?? DJ
  4. Those connectors were once available in stainless and most often soldiered on as described. My father who did a lot of appliance repairs on his job left me some. Now all of the auto types have been used up and sure would like to find a source for more to use on my 50 Ply. wagon that still remains in the to finish shorty? future. Electronic supply type of sources? DJ
  5. My interchange only lists Mopar rear ends back to 1937. Anyone with interchange for older years. I can not find out if newer (1937-up) will work. Odds are not real good. !937 and up have many possible 3rd. member only interchangeability. DJ
  6. Assume you flattened the top lid also? It is usually the worst piece. Should work now! DJ
  7. Fun? As long as you believe it and the wife is happy, all is good in your world! ? DJ
  8. Sounds much better than a press! DJ
  9. You mean dizzy instead of the term distributor -Tim? Must be from their living upside down has had some effect?? ? DJ
  10. Reshaping pot metal is very tricky. Breaks quite easily at low pressures. The pro refinishing shops use someone with a special touch and propane torch and Experience, much! to replace some almost impossible to replace parts for repair . Not my choice as above - but??
  11. Boy you about to have some fun!!!? Just finishing up after many tries on my 50 Ply. 4dr. The trim-- If all the same as Ply. the Dodge the fist three holes as shown use clips on each side (appears that someone added a screw in the trim or that may be the ones(2) that attach the lower edge of lower end part pieces. Remove those screws. try the clips up slightly on each side. Now the fun . there are about 8-9 ? clips that slide into trim parts in the rest on lower trim that has nuts and washers that access (somewhat!) from up in the trunk. Crawl in with light and you will see them and feeling for them. They are recessed up in holes of the package tray lip. A real pain the remove the nuts. For replacement all the push in and bolt on clips need to be sealed at the holes. The bolt on ones use rubbers washers to seal.Old and very hard-no good. Wre avail. at Restoration Specialties. Still used some non hardening rope calk I bought at Amazon . Bought new push in clips from RS and covered the push in pins with the rope also. Best of luck, do not use to many cuss words and take lots of breaks. DJ
  12. My 50 with later B&B had that issue. Wet been leaking for some time. No glass lying around, then it hit me the car has nice heavy flat glass side windows! Taped a whole sheet of wet/dry sandpaper (320-400g) to the glass,(smooth side down!!) wet it and sanded the upper lid of carb until the sealing surface was all shiny. Took a bit. Sure shows the warping quite fast. Keep paper wet throughout the process. No more leaks. As mentioned new gasket and tighten as little as necessary. DJ
  13. While this Mopar info from the Imperial website my apply to different years the Mopar principals for hood adjustments may help.? http://www.web.imperialclub.info/Repair/Lit/Master/025/page30.htm DJ
  14. One example from Speedway motors. More are avail. Plus other vendors. I used the whole setup modified from the junk yard from a full size GM and modified the pedal arm and mount to fit. Almost all will require the firewall to be reinforced at the mounting points. Want to watch brake type- drum/disc/ and bore size of master.
  15. It also looks like the shock absorber is off. Being off like that lets the front suspension hand lower and can cause problems like this. Was it off when the old tie rod end were removed.?? Could be the new "quality of Chineeese parts!" New boots can be purchased separately from many sources. Local stores? I know Summit racing and Speedway motors sell them > DJ
  16. Rain? I sort of remember that. By Wed. this coming week supposed to get to around 95. Can't wait for summer!! ? I like the 70's and 80's but above that. ?. To hot to work in the garage and spend car money on AC. ? DJ
  17. Heck just paint the same color as everything else. Hide it best you can. Camo?. When you move out (if so ?) or can afford something nicer looking with camera just change it out. I Do remember things I Had to do to please the parents way back in the start of time! My driving time that is. DJ
  18. 50 Ply special deluxe horn is quite different from the above picture parts. Will look later if someone does not beat me to it. Dang I forgot my scanner is broken down.. I cannot help! Sorry!! DJ
  19. congrats on the new purchase!!. Very, very nice! Only sadness is that the beaut. of the later Chrysler must? be sold to accommodate this new purchase.. DJ
  20. Strange looking trans shifter. Not a normal 3 spd. column. Semi Auto? Do you know what trans that has or had? DJ
  21. Sniper, I was thinking the exact same thing. A stroke of a loving hand! ? DJ
  22. Saw or heard a lot of taps but no dancing! ? DJ
  23. As manufactured serial as in frame # and engine # were the same per memory. My car is registered by body tag # (Briggs) in Calif. for some reason. So the original motor # (gone ) and frame # neither matched. Door tag # does not match the Title. How some previous owner did this unknown to me, somewhat scary about cars history but have owned for 8 years, So?? ? Want to buy this 50 4 dr. Plymouth? ? DJ
  24. Note glove use in the video. They will be required to use for the running, hot adjusting. . Don't ask for testimony!! ? DJ DJ
  25. Speed i-sleaves work great! Clean the area well and put a small amount on epoxy glue on it (fills the grooves ) the install the sleeve to cover over the wear (shiny) areas. These are not real wide, just enough to cover seal wear area, not the whole thing. Read and follow instructions and don't forget to remove the lip on it that has on it to drive on sleeve. Buy it then it will make sense. They are not real cheap but worth it. DJ
