  1. 71 Years old with screw up back and hip. Tks for the weight. Looking mostly to get some weekend help from a 16 YO friends kid I'll pay to do anything beyond my ability which is most things. Most heavy work done years ago when I did Not have these issues . ? DJ
  2. Such a small tree in that truck? ! ? Plenty of room for a much larger tree.?. Happy Thanksgiving and a Happy Christmas also! DJ
  3. Does anyone know this weight? Considering buying one on those Quick Jack frame type frame lift that only raise the frame up 21" or maybe the one that raises to 24". 1 per side hydraulic lifts now on sale- - Maybe! Weight is a issue for them. I do not to want to meet my maker under my project! 5K is probably OK but not sure. Why such a low lift? A low garage with a lower garage door opener in my way. Raise the garage roof? Out of my means! This lift may? enable me with a raised back creeper to work under the car- if I can get on the knees to get on a creeper and BACK UP!- that is the challenge Thanks for any reply, DJ 5000TL Portable Car Lift - QuickJack Store Or the TLX model on the same page as above??
  4. Throw 2 nylon tie down straps around the top of motor around the metal stand, front and back and give er hell! That's is how I ran my flattie for the first time with No problems what so ever. Never moved at all. Best of luck that she fires right off and no one can wipe the smile off your face!
  5. Harley CV carbs are cheap used and work well on many apps. Not sure if 2 or 3 would be best. American made, parts, rebuild kits available easily.. Have seen done on some Street rods, etc. Mostly 4 cyls. though. Just another possibility. DJ
  6. As said all the gears of the 3spd. trans you have also work in the OD tans cases.. Also as said just the main shaft of the OD trans does Not interchange and the OD only pieces also are hard to find. Call to George Ashe who also repairs these OD trans and some stock of parts these days as George is elderly and is currently working?? Been doing this some years. Phone only per older posts, but these days? Hopefully someone will give a current update. BTW, George is upper Pa if I remember right, I am not sure these days! ? DJ
  7. Using Firefox and Duck duck go I do not see Any ads! There or anywhere.. Also dump search history on regular basis. UP to you. DJ
  8. I tried some cotton string wrapped around the treads of the bolt covered in Permantex heavy sealer ( Aviation sealer) which worked well on friends Mopar flat 6. stopped the leaks on the head. Just my past experience . Maybe block threads rusted or Over leaned out in the past?? DJ
  9. R-10 G only matches original trans pattern. Must watch for input shaft length as they are varied if for a fluid drive equipped car or regular 3 speed. This my past experience and reading other posts. Their may be a R-11 variant heavy duty trans not sure what a correct letter after the R-11 would be. A recent post was on this forum about this trans was on the forum for Mopar use but they are very rare . I do know most R-11 (letter) DO not fit Mopar but other brands they are Reasonably avail. on E Bay. DJ
  10. Call and ask why the change or possible mistake? Worth the time to call in my opinion I know I would! DJ
  11. Your supposed to buy a bag of coco leaves from the locals to chew on before and while at those altitudes or so tells me my nephew who has relatives (wives side) that live in Peru! Solves the issue mostly. He tells me! DJ
  12. Posting a how to on more permanent areas that last would be sacrilegious to some regulars on the forum. They hold to if it worked 50-60 years ago it must be good today. Nothing wrong with that in Their cars. Others have other ideas that do not follow those. Count me as one who believes that it is yours to do as you please as long as your changes do Not destroy the original character of the vehicle. Now that is My opinion! ?? Please no other brand motors installed. Which I once did before I knew any better! ? DJ
  13. Lots of questions with no answers, but where do you live? Terrain to be where transporting this boat? Distances? Road conditions? Overall motor/vehicle condition? Approx. weight of towed vessel? Last will insurance cover you while towing? I love the idea if this will work out OK! DJ
  14. well you are correct! I need to read my post before i post! ? DJ
  15. Your choice. Can be either. Pos. ground is most common for accessories like 12 radios, CD players, etc. DJ
  16. You May be able to change those boots by unbolting the pedal pads (5/16 nut from behind) and then lubing the boot well and push through the floor pedal holes? Best to remove sheet metal panel in the floorboard area of the drivers side - that can also be a major pain also. DJ
  17. Try a call to Tennessee Clutch for rebuild parts you send yours and are returned in short order (shipping these days are slow and more expensive) but will Most likely be way cheaper overall. Anyone still have the phone #. Sorry I do not. JMO, DJ
  18. Sure that it is a crack and not just a a line in the casting? Magnaflux ? . Does the other side show the same crack? DJ
  19. Andy is now oldmoparparts.com with a new owner. DJ
  20. No lock not but gets a wire thought the hole in the bolt head back to the bracket to maintain your adjustment as per pic. in your post (wire Not shown but hole is).
  21. At least get the stands under the axle and do your bounces. Not left under the frame. My 2 cents. DJ
  22. Years back I compared the part numbers between the 49 and 50 Plymouth bumper mounts and found the numbers were all different. Front and backs years and models How? I do not know. But maybe get the mounts with the bumpers. The Suburban rears are very scarce and I have seen only one for sale on EBay years ago and it was way pricey. Some mods most likely will be required. DJ
  23. While you and wife Sin, which of Willies songs do you prefer? ? Inquiring minds and all that. DJ
  24. What is for sale on EBay may be cheap but noes not hit all that well and all will require cutting, fitting, welding, adapting, plus make room for changes in the floor for the updates needed! If you can do it-go for it! DJ
  25. Picture of missing part sure would help. DJ
