(1 ) ump some fuel down the carb with a squirt bottle. (2) install a electric fuel pump back by the fuel tank with a toggle switch in the cab to use only when needed. Beyond this it is crank/ crank / crank. 😉 Been there/ done that. Up to you. DJ

Some grease nipples are made that just have ridges that are made to have a tapered/ ridged outer edge to be pushed in and do not have threads. To remove you just have to grip them and pry upward. Are they used to replace damaged threads? I do not know, but have seen the in use! Try using a pair of side cut type plies and Pry against the edge on the nut and pry upward and see if they just come out! Sure that any damage can be done if done carefully to check this idea. DJ

Check the repair rates over the years on the Jaguars! Way up the lists of cars needed the most repairs!! 😝 Maybe if you can do your own repairs after the factory warranted repairs ends. Make sure to see what is insured. A friend bought a new Range rover that was totaled after the windscreen leaked and destroyed the under dash electronics! Cost of parts? Buy the best extended repair insurance you can get. Hope I helped! 😈 DJ

Electric Wipers for '51 Plymouth? - Going 12 volt
DJ194950 replied to Bob Riding's topic in P15-D24 Forum
Bob, If you go 12 volts have you looked at this type of update for the whole wiper system?? There used to be several companies making this type of update, but now at least one I saw on a quick search , this ca. has been around for several years. https://www.specialtypowerwindows.com/power-windshield-wiper-kits DJ- 16 replies

Rich, I will not tell people on this forum if you were to also - late at night- in a small dimly lite room that the grinding machine also works on early Ford brakes of the same Lockheed type , same tool etc.! I imagine you know of some old ford owners and can use just word of mouth to get your info out with a promise to Not tell any older Mopar cars that they may know what you are doing! 🥸 🤐 DJ

Old Flathead- Way back in 1968 ,still in High school I bought a rough but 100% complete 37 PLy. bus.cpe. for $25. My brother in law gave me a driver -with no brakes 1951-53 plymouth for free. I put the engine and some parts from the 51+ in the 1937 and made it driveable on our 1+ acre place in the country. As a non licensed driver I had a ball running it around our yard as fast and hard as I could. So I say to you parts between the 2 cars can somehow be combined to work and make a usable car. Details of the combo are long last to the cosmos! DJ

Dartgame Not any different gears on the governor that I know of but I do not have a parts list on these trans to look so I just do not know. Perhaps someone with a complete parts list can check for us if different gears are listed and we will both know? 🧐😉 DJ
-
Really the only reason not to wire the governor to be used is if you want to use first gear overdrive. My own OD trans I did not wire the gov. in and tried the first OD in driving. I thought a waste of time to use it. Normal use first is usable to about 15+? mph and first OD was good for about 25+!. All depending on what RPM'S you wanted to limit at. Really, it was smoother driving taking 1 st. to about the 15 mph, shift to 2nd. to 25to 30 then hit the 2nd. OD till about 40-50 easily then the 3rd. without OD. and on so - The speeds quoted are purely from memory from 3 -4 years past as I sold the car to a friend and have not been in the car sense. So exact speed #'s are not guaranteed.😉 DJ
-
to all- The 6 volt and 12 volt solenoids are the same dimensions and mounting so can be easily changed as needed for your system voltage. The governor is just a set of flyweights that move out with speed of rotation. They only provide a ground when fast enough speed. So do not care if 6 volt or 12v. Dartgame - remove your governor and clean the grease inside and renew. Speed at operation will get back to original as spec'ed. DJ

scan of page on tank info from parts book that covers 1950 Mopar cars. Note the differences between Suburbans and Station Wagons . They are Not the same thing. After the woodie wagon years they do get used very often as interchangeable names from what I read. Correct? Am I opening the can of Werms?! I know spelling !! DJ

Yes it is. DJ

Wheel hoops blanks are available for sale and you can a local machine shop remove your existing center and install them in the new hoops as per your desired sizes and offsets. One company I found on a quick web search that sells the wheel hoops(rims only). ttps://www.heywheel.com/page11.html I believe that the address should be https: I somehow screwed that up?! DJ

Can you contact the previous owner to see what fluid he used in the brakes. Dot 3- 4 -5 ?? Some intermix and some do not. DJ

LED running lights and halogen headlights for my '47 Super De Luxe
DJ194950 replied to 46Chris's topic in P15-D24 Forum
The Tech. Co. used to sell 6 volt versions but quit from what was stated as lack of sales. I read that somewhere). Seems nothing has changed over the years since. When ? I cannot remember but, old age creeps up slowly! 🫠 DJ -
Still on 6 v. setup and Pertronix parts also or changed to 12 V. setup through out? I have done 12 volt pertronix changes two of which were on Mopar flat sixes. No experience with the 6 v, versions. No problems at all with the 12 v. kits! Others have had other experiences, but. . . they were all 6 v. systems I believe.? Some differences on kits depending on the distributor you use. DJ

Texas maybe, but born and raised in Tennessee ?

My intent was really to be a joke, I guess I forgot the the emoji that reflected that! The color reminds me of the color that was used in almost all alum surface primers many years back. Trying to remember the name but I do remember that it was discontinued because of some of the ingredients were toxic. I remember- zinc chromate !! Old age has too many drawbacks some days. Original cars deserve original colors that reflect that the car receives extra work and care to be originals. I do appreciate the efforts! 🙂 DJ

Just needs some contrasting color pin stripping and go driving! 👍 DJ

Last time I went to a Napa store to buy a premade 3/16" brake line all they had in stock were made with the copper/nickel, stuff. I did not ask if they could get one from regular steel. The copper stuff bent easily and was easy to flair as I wanted to make the length different. Check it out? DJ
