The BW OD ( Letter)-10 R-10 for Mopars- solenoids for 12 volt are the same for Almost all brands models of this OD trans. Probably there are 10 -12 brands all used the same 12 volt solenoids and Used to reasonable on EBay. Used to be!!!. If I remember right they are almost all where the plunger rod when retracted is 1" out (base to rod end) from the mount base. There were a Few exceptions but very few. New but not cheap !! were available here but, not sure now as the owner has passed away but was still open by family recently. https://fifthaveinternetgarage.com/overdrive_parts.php DJ

Well the can of worms has been opened wide and you will need to do a complete tear down of the 3 speed trans as bearings have fallen out at the front end of the main shaft at the front inside of the three speed. (Most likely). Mopar trans insides are often different from other brands and the OD portion is also different and you will need to follow Mopar only assembly instructions. Probably needed to be done anyway but now it is for sure. The 3speed gears and internals will interchange except the main shafts IF the synchro set ups are of the same type. DJ

How does radiator attach to radiator bracket support on 48 DeSoto?
DJ194950 replied to MarcDeSoto's topic in P15-D24 Forum
From what I have seen on other Mopars of the era the rad. needs to be closer to the motor on the other side of the mount an it appears the top legs of the mount bent inward to meet the rad width. The Bolts come from the inner side rad. then into the mount. DJ -
Maybe so Plymouthy, with the big cams and carbs the boys on the downtown Saturday night cruise were Very impressed with the rough idle like a drag car. Might have difficult to breath behind the car for the unburnt fuel, but sure Sounded fast. ? Fast? Could not past a gas station! DJ

Are those available now for new cars and trucks, they are certainly needed badly. ? Any engineers/machinists on the forum? Please help your forum members!!! WE NEED YOU_ NOW! ?? DJ

To add a temporary fuel pressure gauge you will need to add a t- to the fuel line just before the carb with the extra line leading to a gauge where it can be read by you ( under dash., on on hood,?, etc.) to show fuel pressure when the issue shows up . And compared with the number before the issue happens-Same day, temp, driving, etc. type of thing- Just one check? DJ
-
Can you temp. add in a pressure gauge for fuel that can be seen when driving to see if you are having a lack of fuel after warm up and driving? May have fuel starvation issue and that would show it for sure and then the diagnosis which is more complicated, but it's a starting place. Just 1 opinion/ guess/. DJ

Online there are many U-tube videos on ways to build your own tank to fit your project on the cheap for home hydro-dipping (graining) parts, dashes, trims, etc. Want to do camo.?? Also there are many web sellers of the films in 1000's of designs including wood grains and while not dirt cheap but not way over the top either for a do it yourself type and will end up very reasonable priced compared to many other ways of wood graining --paints included. Check them out if at all interested. DJ

11th Annual // International Work On Your Truck Day!!!
DJ194950 replied to 48Dodger's topic in Mopar Flathead Truck Forum
Found and used some used rotors? Appears so. Not an issue to me but I would at least have them surfaced if so. DJ -
If the motor can be rotated by hand, even with pry bars the I say find, buy a wrench to ft the nut side and get your biggest hammer out and take that damn nut off. Yes I can be a cave man when required and worked on many large pieces of equipment in the past and we did what was necessary to get a job done! ? DJ

Well, with all the New thingies on cars we often forget which way we were turning (while on our phones) and remembering to look at the turn signal handle as to which direction to move the turn handle to turn off signal after completing a turn, the single flashing light on the gage is not enough for many these days?. ? I personally been way down the rabbit hole of modernizing a old car to the point to where I never finished it after many years, So I am way guilty. ?. Still a project car in my garage to be finished??? The car I recently sold to a good friend (50 Ply. 4 dr.) did Not suffer from extreme updates and was Finished and driven for several years. Still very driveable and driven by my friend. DJ

Where to buy urethane paint in California
DJ194950 replied to lostviking's topic in Mopar Flathead Truck Forum
Well, I screwed that up the info I mentioned on my post was for-Acrylic Urethane paint- Not a enamel paint. I did not look that close at the description. I have painted enamel paint years ago on vehicles but ever since it was always Acrylics- I almost just think paint= acrylics for autos. Gettin' old, ya know! ? Where to buy urethane paint in California
DJ194950 replied to lostviking's topic in Mopar Flathead Truck Forum
Might check out Summit Racing for paints enamel single stage with harder in a reducer type of additive, more colors, none to factory specs color wise but more choices it seems about $120 for about 5 qts. of spray able paint- free shipped ( over $100) . Available from Nev. warehouse for most colors for Ca. delivery. Just a note to others as the order for lostviking is already done. Summit has 5 different warehouse around the Us for deliverers closest to you for your info. Always dealt with them as often as I could if they had the parts I needed. DJ -

Just ran across this factory training film with lots of info on correcting brakes making noise, Proper adjustment and why the settings make the differances At the end of the film/video showing what the factory said to do when installing bonded shoes as apposed to procedures outlined for riveted shoes. Stumbled across this site again I kept with the factory training films/now videos again as I am trying to forward all my collected repair info to my friend that bought my 1950 Ply. 4 dr. . The video is labeled for the 1950 year but applies to many years of most early Mopars. Looking through the films by years only you miss lots of info that works on most years/models so do not only see your model years films! DJ

I do not think that I would open the plate hole up. It just may have an effect on water pump pressure produced and making it bigger may make water flow situation worse? These pumps do not move major water volumes as I always thought they would (or pressures in 0 pressure systems) as seen in the radiator top tank . Not sure I explained this well, but. Just my thought on this subject

Hard to see for sure but it looks like the rub block for the points is very worn?? May be just the angle of the pic and a Q>? DJ

Removing rear leaf to lower and soften ride
DJ194950 replied to lostviking's topic in Mopar Flathead Truck Forum
I would think in and auto loving area like you live that one or more spring rebuild/replace type spring companies are around your area that would be great to get a picture or two to them and describe what you want to accomplish and ask their professional opinions and how they may help you . May be well worth a phone call or two? We have two companies here in the No. cencal that has 2 within 30 miles that have been around for many years. Just my 5 Cents, Late to reply as i am slow typist!! DJ
