  1. Just work on one thing at a time . in the photo it doesn't look like too bad of a leak . And make sure that the vent on top of the differential isn't plugged as that will cause a leak . Your jack stands didn't cause the leak .
  2. Congratulations on getting it running smoothly . I would be shopping for a NOS Autolite set of points on ebay . If you post your distributor number I can look up the Autolite part number for the points . And a little distributor cam lube is needed .
  3. Tank Inc . Makes good tanks at a good price . See if they have one for your vehicle .
  4. Are the auto parts stores open during the pandemic ? They all carry brake lines .
  5. If you do decide to drain the tank , there is a reason that there is a drain plug in the bottom . As others have said , check the other things first .
  6. The gear ratio is usually stamped on the housing . You might need a mirror to see it after cleaning .
  7. When in doubt , try running without the cap on , just for a test .
  8. No you shouldn't need a regulator . Do you have a vacuum gauge ? Most vacuum gauges an option to measure fuel pump pressure too .
  9. You can buy the correct cam grease from Mac's Auto Parts 1-877-220-8230 if you can't find it locally ( I couldn't ) . Macs sells parts for the old Fords . I wouldn't use anything else .
  10. Ulu is correct . If your bleeder is on the bottom you won't be able to get the air out .
  11. That was quick !
  12. I know of a California car that was stolen an striped . It was then purchased and repaired . When it was then sold as a running driving car , it was issued a salvaged tittle .
  13. Be careful if you should use your vise as a press , many guys break their vises that way . If it takes too much pressure , you need a press or a machine shop to use their press .
  14. I think that is French Lake Auto Parts , a junkyard , probably in Minnesota . One of our members , Young Ed , has been there . He might give you more information . www.frenchlake auto parts.com
  15. If the pressure plate will fit in a large flat rate box , it will ship for $21.10 by USPS within the USA .
  16. A compression check might give you additional information . Read up on the procedure first .
  17. How about that shop that Don Coatney used to recommend . was it Tennessee Clutch and brake ?
  18. See ebay number 233499416168
  19. Did you drive it home ? And did it show any further problems ?
  20. Noah , The word is out that the throw out bearings that are coming in from Asia are junk . Also if you don't have any free play on the bearing , it is going to spin all of the time and wear out very fast .
  21. I used that method on dog dish hub caps that snapped over three nubs . I just put a small gob on each of the nubs . Works very well and just pry off the hub cap for removal . This method was posted on a site that sells hub caps . Silicone adhesive of course is what we are talking about not the silicone lubricant .
  22. You didn't mention that you had re-wired the dash , so your old wires would still have the correct length and curves to line up with all of the terminals . If you get the two wires reversed on the amp gauge , no problem , just switch them around . If the amp gauge wires are reversed , the gauge reads backwards .
  23. Some of the early mopars didn't have a separate voltage regulator , instead there was a third brush in the generator that was adjustable and controlled output . If you have an shop manual for your vehicle this procedure would be included in the text . As to why it acts up now that the radio is out ... i don't have a clue . Perhaps more voltage was required for the radio transformer .
  24. I have used a choke cable housing in an electric drill as an auger to clean out a pick up tube . Be careful that the auger doesn't grab and try to break off . Perhaps use the auger with some liquid of your choice .
  25. I am not an expert on this but it might depend on which type of seal is in there right now . I don't think that they are all interchangeable .
