I run a Napa 1010 there is also a 1071 and I think a 1056 but don't quote me on that third one. I run 10w40 in all my stuff but they have rebuilt engines.

Greg you're off a year. His car is a p19 but if original it will have a p20 engine. All 50s got p20 even if they were the shorter wb p19s. Still the same 218 as p23

These are dad's former 50s. It's very common to see the ornament with the plastic insert upside-down.

But can we still tell him his hood ornament is upside-down???

We had quite the harvest this year too. We canned many pints of banana peppers and quarts of pickles. Plus a mix of tomatoes and marinara. It was interesting learning how to can food.

I've got about 20k miles on my rebuild and they've never been touched. I think the guy that set them knew what he was doing. My 48 was a new engine to him! I keep thinking someday I should check them...

That's right some dodges have studs so no pilot hole. I drilled pilot holes in some aftermarket rims without too much difficulty and got them to fit

Bob anything else you're missing? It's in pretty poor shape but there is one of those in the junkyard here

I haven't used it yet but I've got a brake hose from a more modern vehicle that is supposed to be a direct replacement.

And now I'll get that chance for a better look at the flywheel.... Yesterday afternoon went to fill it with gas for our planned car club fall tour today. When I went to leave the pump -click click from the starter. We tried jumping it from a nice guy with a brand new hemi ( I think it was a durango) but as I thought battery wasn't the problem. Then I remembered hearing stories about guys knocking their starters with sticks. Well lacking any sticks I used my tire iron. Couple light jabs were all I could do but it started! I tried it a few more times throughout the evening and it continues to be intermittent. So no trip for me and starter will likely be coming back out.

Pre 57 should all be the same tooth count. I believe blue skies got his from vintage power wagons. Their site shows them at $75 probably close to 100 after shipping

I believe the most logical solution is to get a 230 flywheel which compensates for the crank diff. If you search way way back in the forum you should see some posts from blue skies about it.

Are you using a 201 flywheel or 230?

Not sure about a later spring but I recall someone on the early days of the forum using a wall thermometer spring.

Ya the first one on my 46 lasted about 16 years but the second only 2. Hopefully the third behaves like the first!

IDK if they will believe you but that is how they were built. The rocker stainless hides the difference

My p15 ate the first set of king pins I installed. When I was doing the second they said the uprights were worn. I now wonder if your oversized pins were either proper for them or designed to save them

FYI p23 engines were used in both 51 and 52 model year cars. And all 51-52s got a p23 engine even if the car was a p22.

Yup there are 2. I believe there were setups that mounted to either pad on the manifold.
