Plymouthy,  your pic looks my area except it is still snowing, Niceville, Florida is currently having a snow fall that will amount to about 3-5 inches from 1pm to 10pm. Crestview 20 miles north is expected to have up to 8 inches. It's pretty but if I wanted this I would have lived in one of the northern states.

We're in the mid 20's right now with a low of 17 at 7 am tomorrow, but the feels like will be 7. These old bones do not like this at all.

This morning it was -7 degrees and that was without the windchill. It did warm up to 4 degrees though today. Last week I had to clear snow off the roof to allow me up there to re-flash around the chimney. I picked one of the warmer days to do it but the wind was brutal.

For those Southern members the silver lining to the cold weather is that it helps control the bug population to some extent. Only the strong survive.

I make snow women....complete with snow cones....mums thinks its offensive.....lol

I went back out a bit ago....wow did it snow while I was goofing off indoors....we have about 4 inches of snow on the ground.   While I admit it is different and snow hides a world of sins.....it is fleeting and we left with the mess in the long run.  While I have no need to go out for anything, I will sit back, drink my coffee and look ugly, two things I excel at.

Yesterday when I got up the temp was -15°F with a windchill of -53°F.

You Betcha... 5 feet of snow is nothing, right?😁

Down here, we've got a couple of inches, most of people probably never seen it, there are a total of 0 snow plows in the city, and many struggle to walk (let alone drive) because the pavement is clearly obstructed by alien matter.

Now, those folks who came down for a vacation, from up north, are really disappointed...

While today Florida is living up to it's name "The Sunshine State", I don't think this is what most people have in mind.

how much voltage are the solar panel putting out today?   Looks like about the same amount of snow we got here in middle Georgia.   About all I have accomplished today was to trek out and make sure the little birds are well fed for the day.

we have one huge solar farm near us.....when completed and reported as now complete...2500 acres large with a huge lambing facility on site for the sheep mowers.  Bet this is a setback on output right now.   I had to clear the snow off the satellite dish this morning....oh well, just a minor setback and while it is melting today to some degree.....due to the sun and not ambient temps, just punched past freezing a few minutes ago as we hit 33.   I feel the roads will be icy yet in places tonight after the sun goes down.  Our street is now clear and appears dry.  Never lasts long when it snows but this is the largest accumulation that I can recall since the early 80's.   Got no place I need to be so enjoying some coffee and catching up with some communications with friends and family.

Sorry folks, musta left the door open.  -12 up here this morning, toasted right up to 4 with plenty of electric blue sky.  A bit blustery, but quite pretty.  We shut the door, now it looks like you'uns will be warming back up.

Its just to remind ya all of what real cold is.

Not sure how cold it got here yesterday morning. My indoor/outdoor thermometer was reading "LL" for outdoors which means below sensor range. Supposed to be good to -20F, but who knows. I do know that for the first time since installed in 2023 my heat pump auxiliary electric heat coil activated when the 3 degree step up in temperature occurred from night to day temperature setting at 7am. Didn't stay on long, actually probably the minimum run time. The heat pump supplied all heat throughout the rest of the day without issue. The programming for the aux is set that if below X outdoor ambient temp, the indoor temp is more than X degrees below Setpoint without increase for X seconds the first stage aux coil kicks on for X time. If indoor temp still doesn't begin to climb after a certain time the second coil kicks in. (don't think it did) The step up in temperature allowed this to occur. I may add a couple additional indoor setpoints to ramp this temperature up over a short period of time versus a one step increase.

For when you go back to snow men, remember that a "real" snow man has two carrots.

And yet Tim appears to have more snow than we have!
