I loved my wife so much I married her twice.  Plus as a benefit I got half my stuff back.

I have met Marks and Merles honeys and I think everything will be just fine.  The guys found some great catches, (Not sure if Marks lady is making the right choice though)

Tim, you having a swap table this year?

Others, especially from south of Fresno.  I am driving up on Friday afternoon, stay night in Lodi, the BBQ, and return Saturday evening. If anyone wants to car pool let me know, my departure time from Selma, CA is very flexible. I did this last year, had a great time.

Parts table is fine Paul. Seems in the years past guys just found an open area and sold their stuff no problem. If the swap meet part of the BBQ becomes more important, we'll make an area for it. As far as my stuff goes, I really should create do a better job laying it out before the event. hmmmm......

BBQ is almost upon us!!!! When the event is under way, a few forum names will come up....some asking questions like "wonder what he's like?" "wonder if he'll come out next year?" or "wouldn't it be great if that guy was here, I'd like to talk with him".

It's what created the "Wish You Were Here Award". An award that reminds everyone on the forum, no matter where you're at, you're invited!!

Past winners

2008 Don Coatney

2009 Merle Coggins

2010 Hank aka HanksB3B

2011 Ed aka Young ED

2012 Bud aka Budstruck

2013 Tim Adams aka Plymouthy Adams

2014  Mark aka ggdad1951 and  Davin aka Desotodav

2015  Joe Hanely aka 52b3 Joe

This guy paints old trucks like me, so I'm happy to see him get the trophy.  Truly wish he could make it out to the BBQ this year, and look forward to the day he sez he's bought his ticket, loaded his paint brushes and is on his way!

BBQ: Yesterday my grandson asked if he could go with me to the BBQ? Now that is loyalty, start em young, got a grandchild, with Tim's permission,  bring them, the open air and open spaces is GREAT for them.  I asked Zackary what he remembered, his reply was the ride on the quad with Tim and the big oak tree that he walked out to in the pasture.

Will start driving Phoeniz daily now to assure it will make the trip. A trip or two up to the Big Trees will confirm and a AAA Premium Tow ticket in my billfold as back up.

Fellows, we need to bring our trucks, the new attentees want to see ALL the trucks, so "start your engines".  Got a friend here in Auberry that has a 39 daily driver, I'm working on him to drive up with me. Maybe trailer his behind Phoenix, now that would be a rest stop event!  If mine takes a dive, we just trade trucks.

See you at the Q

It's difficult to put into words how much an award like this means and to be grouped with such an illustrious bunch is a huge honor. I'll find a prominent place to display it until the "man cave" in the basement is finished and can take it's proper place in the forefront of several other treasured items.

The ticket was almost bought this year, on the fence with the decision until my son's house fire in January finalized it for this year. The trip is in the planning stages already, for next year, a milestone event and if needed, I'll pack some sanding blocks and a paint gun. In the meantime, I need to button up an off topic car that's going to turn a few heads when it gets out in public, do some rust repair on a son's truck, get some color on my Mach I and spend some quality time on my truck. It's been pushed back on the "to do" list for too long.

I'll send a pic of it's temporary home when it arrives. I guess that's mandatory, and I look forward to following the pics and stories of the event. Thank you again, I feel very honored to receive it.

Dave

Its getting closer!

Been cleaning up best I can between the rains.

Yea...I said rain....thank god for the rain!!

The wind is another story, got some damage to the roof.

The B1BQ needs some TLC, the crack weeds are waiting on Brent (lol), mowing the parking lot belongs to John T again, and I'm building a "can" in the shop. No more portapotties....

The trophies are almost done.

The 51 Chevy I painted/etc has left....its getting home in time for some family pictures.

Checked out our cater's rig....its a big ol' Dodge...he's hired. :D

invited him to the BBQ...he might come...

I also caught my woman wearing our wedding ring a few months early...lol. And I got a new hat.

Oh, not to mention I have a new Hawk for anyone interested to see....she's a beauty!

There are a few new guys stopping by this year....a COE (dodge....47?) a 55 Dodge 1.5 ton and an International.

I can't wait for the party to get started...I am sooooo ready!!!!

Ya know the Amish have get-togethers of fellowship and barn-raisings, supplied with a hearty meal to keep folks rejuvenated...maybe ya could save some of them chores for when some of them able-bodied fellers wander onto the premises

"Plumbing vent" and the anti explosion device? I installed one in my new garage!!! LOL

Posted (edited)

A deep hole dug and a bucket of dirt to cover deposits. What else is needed when you live way out in the country?!

Want fancy?-- a vent  to the hole the the fixture sits on that has a open/close valve.

Not to close to your well though!

Perfect! LOL!
