True ED......out here on the West Coast, most trees are in bloom by mid to late March. Maybe next year it should be in April??? I shall mark my calendar. Same rules as last year? ggdad1951
I vote late April! That way us northerners can have our trucks out (and I won't be at a hockey tournament!). I'll open and close the door on FEF on the way out to hockey tailgating in the early AM!

48Dodger
Maybe you should put in for an exemption Bud....? After all, you are working under a deadline! 48D
Young Ed
No exemption needed-working on something that can be towed by the truck should count.
55 Fargo
No exemption needed-working on something that can be towed by the truck should count. Why shouldn't it count. Ed you need something you can drive around in winter too, on those drier days, something like an old Dodge truck, that isn't cosmetically fixed up, but mechanically sound. I have been drivin the old Fargo around quite a bit this winter, only minor salt exposure a few times....

Don Coatney
Looks to me like you are not washing but marking your territory except marking territior usually requires one leg elevated.

Young Ed
Joe sent me a nice picture of a 53 Dodge speedometer at the junkyard he went to. However the owner was firm on $75 for it. So does passing on buying a part count?
Dave
I worked on the truck today and I didn't even know this was work on your truck day, I must have been inspired by the sunshine outside or something else.I took of the carb, want to rebuild is, I'll post a picture to prove it2 things inspire me, I drive this truck every chance I get, and I get a kick out of the mostly guys who wave or give me a thumbs up. There was once a pretty young lady waving like crazy as I turned the corner, turns out she was my daughter, that counts, right? pflaming
1) What: I found my wiring glitch. My lights worked then didn't. I finally disconnected everthing and make each work. Three wires come from the amp; coil, ig, and headlight switch thus the connections are stacked. All seemed tight, then I discovered the very bottom one was the on/off glitch, that tightened and bingo! 2) picts are below 3) things keep me inspired: forum members help and support, now the joy of driving the truck, the sense of accomplishment in a new genre of life. Since the tail lights are on the low side, I wanted a third light up higher. I put it on the driver's side and it words as a tail light, brake light, and turn light. Should help the driver's following. NEXT: Tim, hide your silver, I'm coming to the BBQ
52b3b Joe
My entire day from 6:30am and probably until midnight today is ALL TRUCK! I took a nice 2.5 hr cruise (gas is too expensive) to a yard with some pilothouses. I found some of the parts I had on my list, so that was a big plus....BUT I spent far more than I wanted to. Prices went way up from the last time I was there. From the junk yard I went to take a look at that 3.54 rear end. The thing is a thing PERFECT as far as I can tell, untouched from the factory and it will be a direct swap into my housing and axles. I'll be cruisin effortless at 65 mph. Tonight I am going to clean up the rear end pumpkin, make a gasket, throw it in the housing tonight, and throw some paint on it. I bought some new gear oil to put in tomorrow once I get the axles and brakes back on. Then a test drive I hope. This is all speculation at this point. I hope it goes just as I am saying! Hopefully I didn't overlook any differences in the pumpkins. Also, the 56 Plymouth rear I just bought has the 4 spider gears like the trucks. I know some of the cars seem to have the 2 spider gears unless I misunderstood that. As another note, my truck got 17 mpg doing 70-75mph and over 300 miles...not too bad. Just took a break for some food, now back to the garage! No pictures at this time...maybe tonight or tomorrow I'll get time to post some. Merle Coggins
I got a chance to play with the truck today too. I finally finished my tail light replacement project. Results are posted in the thread I started on that topic. I think It's about ready for the summer now. We just need some nice weather. It sure doesn't feel much like spring yet. Only 38 degrees this afternoon. The snow is slowly disappearing, but not fast enough for my liking. Merle
Jeff Balazs
Did not have an entire day to devote to this........but I got a start on putting the bed back together. Also took pictures of the SS exhaust system that my buddy Jon installed for me last week. I am pretty happy with these items. Can't wait to put it all back together.
