48Dodger Posted December 6, 2012 Report Posted December 6, 2012 Just wanted to invite people to see who has been the heavy contributors to the forum, since we are moving to a new location. Last time the site was moved, the post count was reset. Dont' know if that will happen again so I thought I'd draw everyone's attention to the group I call the "1st Pagers". Click "Members list" ....its in the user buttons top of the page Click "post" .....its in the brown bar of buttons Doing this will sort the members by number of posts they've made. I just want to say "Thank You" to the "1st Pagers" for being so involved, relentless in sharing information, and in many cases, entertaining. Merle Coggins Posted December 6, 2012 Report Posted December 6, 2012 It's interesting that Norm's Coupe and Normspeed are still that high on the list. Norm's Coupe passed away a couple of years ago. He was a great guy and is still missed. Normspeed discontinued his affiliation with the forum shortly after that due to irreconcilable differences with a couple of other forum members. Imagine where they'd be on that list if they were still around. Merle Quote
pflaming Posted December 6, 2012 Report Posted December 6, 2012 My name is on that list because many forum members walked me through my build. The first one was Greybeard. He patiently took me through the engine rebuild. That bolstered my courage and I continued. SO "CUDOS" to all those who helped me and a Merry Christmas to all. Paul Quote
ggdad1951 Posted December 6, 2012 Report Posted December 6, 2012 wow, either: 1. I ask a lot of questions 2. have to much time on my hands 3. have learned something during my build YOU be the judge! Quote
Don Coatney Posted December 6, 2012 Report Posted December 6, 2012 I have been on this forum for many of years. I have made a lot of friends due to this forum. Of the thirty folks listed I have met 11 of them face to face yet I feel that I know them all. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted December 6, 2012 Report Posted December 6, 2012 I have met but three of these fine gentlemen in person but I have conversed with a great majority of them in one form or another be it PMs or phone call or both for that matter. The forum brings like minded folks toghether and the exchange of ideas and information pertaining to the old car is always fun and exciting. Like Don, I have been on the forum for quite some time now..always something going on..always something to learn...hats off to the eintire membership.. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted December 6, 2012 Report Posted December 6, 2012 (edited) I've met three on that list, along with several others.....all good guys, who have much knowledge of the old Mopars and are willing to share. Have really enjoyed my time hanging out here on the forum. Look forward to more good times ahead. Bob P.S. Just so I could retain the list for a while if it goes away......I highlighted the post, copied it, and pasted it into an email to myself. Just passing this on in case anyone else is interested in saving it. Edited December 6, 2012 by BobT-47P15 Quote
48Dodger Posted December 6, 2012 Author Report Posted December 6, 2012 lol.....I'm about 248 post out of the 1st page.....which means with my average of 0.79 posts a day....it would take me about 314 days to get close... 48D Quote

Merle Coggins Posted December 13, 2012 Report Posted December 13, 2012 What ever happened to Mr. Greybeard????? His computer developed an issue that wouldn't allow him to create new threads. He could only reply to existing threads. He worked with GTK to try to resolve the issue but they couldn't. So he quit participating. I've kept in touch with him via email, although it's been a while now. Maybe it's time to send him a 'Merry Christmas' email and let him know that the forum is about to get a major revamp. Maybe he can get active again on the new platform. Merle Quote
Don Coatney Posted December 13, 2012 Report Posted December 13, 2012 On a trip to Pennsylvania a few years back I had the pleasure of meeting Mr and Mrs Greybeard face to face. I do miss his postings. Quote
ggdad1951 Posted December 13, 2012 Report Posted December 13, 2012 yah, if you ping him, tell him we miss him! Just because he can't start a thread doesn't mean he can't reply! Or maybe the new conversion will fix the problem? Quote
buds truck Posted December 13, 2012 Report Posted December 13, 2012 wow. I only have just under a thousand more posts to go to hit the BOTTOM of the list, I must be a lightweight, LOL Quote

MBF Posted December 16, 2012 Report Posted December 16, 2012 I met GB and his brother at our truck show in Macungie a couple of years back. Very friendly and interesting person to talk to and very knowledgeable about PH's. I miss seeing him on the board. Mike Quote

Merle Coggins Posted July 7, 2015 Report Posted July 7, 2015 I see that I've moved up one spot to #8... right between the Norm's. Quote
Young Ed Posted July 7, 2015 Report Posted July 7, 2015 I see that I've moved up one spot to #8... right between the Norm's. and I dropped back to #3. See what happens when you have kids 1 Quote
Merle Coggins Posted July 7, 2015 Report Posted July 7, 2015 It's still amazing that Norms Coupe is still in the top 10 since his last activity was Dec 2009. Quote
RobertKB Posted July 8, 2015 Report Posted July 8, 2015 I've dropped from 12 to 14 and will likely drop further as I do not post as much as I used to. Normspeed is also still in the top 10 at number 9. He has not posted in a long time, about 5 years, but for a different reason than Norm's Coupe. The forum has really changed from the time of the Norms. Quote
T120 Posted July 8, 2015 Report Posted July 8, 2015 Most all the common tech problems and remedies have been covered at least once - and answers can generally be found by doing a search on the forum. Replays tend to get boring over time. Still, it is nice to see that helpful advice and direction is offered to all. I also miss hearing from some of the members who no longer contribute for whatever reason. Certainly a good mix of personalities and a wealth of experience and information has been and continues to be shared on this forum. 2 Quote
JBNeal Posted July 9, 2015 Report Posted July 9, 2015 I've kinda wondered about addressing the repetitive technical questions with some sort of FAQ section that can be contributed by members & edited like a Wikipedia page. The technical issues could be broken down into sections following the factory shop manual as a layout guide. I had started to do something similar to this with my build post, but I have had a LOT of delays over the years so even this isn't anywhere close to what I want done. And the multiple contributors to a topic could become a headache to moderate...it's all pie in the sky at this point from member #2888 1 Quote
