It is in the mid '50s here in central Massachusets and I took the opportunity to take a short, 5 mi. ride.  It rained on the weekend and most of the salt is washed off of the roads.  It is going to rain later today and hopefully wash the roads some more.  My old Dodge took a few minutes of cranking to wake up, but once going it ran well.  It felt good to be behind the wheel again!  Here is to a good 2022!

A silver lining to every dark cloud, it's been so cold up here this winter that the road crews haven't used near as much "salt" as they usually do, (salting winter roads only works above a certain temperature, they won't "waste" salt on the roads if it's too cold), so once spring rolls around, it won't take as much rain as it usually does to wash it off the roads.  Now the anticipation sets in.

Sounds like a great time. My stuff won't hit the road for 2 months!

Sorry to hear that. I remember you saying that you store your cars at a remote location. I am lucky in that I have mine here and can take advantage of an early break in the weather.  Hang on, it will be all the sweeter in May!

The p15 is in WI and the first few miles are all dirt roads so it varies quite a bit on when that dries up. I will have my pickup and 64 belvedere back the 2nd week of Apr. The 47 pickup is here so I do have something to work on but it doesn't drive yet

We had a cold finish to the winter in north central Alberta and lots of snow. Thankfully over the last few days it has warmed up and dried off the primary roads but not necessarily the County roads or Gravel Roads. Couldn't resist the temptation today to run 10 or 12 miles to check out the success of the winter repairs. Now more snow tomorrow so back to the garage for a couple of weeks.

Tempting fate are we?  Might be March but that don't mean winter is over.  Even down here in Texas we can still get some ice/snow in March.

As predicted, sitting at computer watching the snow come down while enjoying morning tea. Up to 3" predicted in local broadcast area so might be more than a couple of weeks in the garage. That said, I was able to put 100 miles on the car yesterday in bright sunshine and + temperatures. Take it when I can get it. Hope everyone has a first ride as good as mine was this year.  Dave

Battery tender is on, priming bottle is filled.  Will be cranking her over this afternoon,  in anticipation of a ride tomorrow.   Gotta change the garage over from winter storage mode to driving and work around spacing.  Snow plow and snow blower will get run dry and go into the shed.  Got doctors Apts Monday afternoon, maybe we will combine wellness checkup for Kate too.

I took the ‘36 for a spin yesterday. Fired right up. Temps in the 60’s the last couple of days and I “summarized” the snow blower. We’ll see a few more cold days but the worst of winter is over. Of course, we just returned from Arizona so it wasn’t a bad winter at all.

Still typical spring in northern Maine.  We still have a couple feet of snow on the ground, but everywhere I plowed over the winter is bare.  Day temps above freezing (albeit not by much) on a regular basis.  Expecting 4-7 inches of snow this afternoon into tomorrow morning.  Snow is a possibility into May, but after March they quit salting the roads altogether.  I've been doing the pre-season puttering on the ol' D24 and VW, getting them ready to bolt out the door and down the road.
