Merle Coggins Posted July 7, 2014 Report Posted July 7, 2014 I wanted to test my new GoPro, so I set it up on the rear window and took a drive to get a hair cut. 3 Quote
ledfootslim Posted July 7, 2014 Report Posted July 7, 2014 Sweet!!! Must try that........how did you embed a YouTube vid in your post? Quote
Jeff Balazs Posted July 7, 2014 Report Posted July 7, 2014 Nice........but you could really use some theme music. Look up the band Pure Prairie League......They have the perfect tune...it's called "I'll fix your flat tire Merle"........."don't get your sweet country pick'n fingers all covered with earl" Jeff 1 Quote
Don Coatney Posted July 7, 2014 Report Posted July 7, 2014 I thought your truck was fluid drive. Why so much shifting? Quote
Brent B3B Posted July 7, 2014 Report Posted July 7, 2014 that was fun! took me a second to figure out the blinker buzzard. i thought we were also going to see the haircut. ( i am sooooo jealous, my truck doesn't run and i am loosing my hair... way to rub it in Merle ) Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted July 8, 2014 Report Posted July 8, 2014 Great ride!-not so sure about the turn signal noise maker for seniors though! Quote

ruff1148kr Posted July 8, 2014 Report Posted July 8, 2014 Thanks for taking us all for a ride. I often wondered what the view will look like out that split window. now I now Some day I hope to enjoy the same kind of trip. Quote
TodFitch Posted July 8, 2014 Report Posted July 8, 2014 Fun ride although I don't know how you can stand to listen to talk radio: Had you been playing some oldies on the radio it would have been great. Quote

Talk radio is a, a, a, a, hoot to listen to. They, they, they, they all stutter especially when they want to drive a point home but forget what to, to, to, to, say. Quote
Ram Man 02 Posted July 8, 2014 Report Posted July 8, 2014 very cool. i felt like i was in the cab! Quote
Merle Coggins Posted July 8, 2014 Author Report Posted July 8, 2014 Thanks guys. I thought you'd enjoy it. Sweet!!! Must try that........how did you embed a YouTube vid in your post? I copied the link in the "Share" area of the video on my channel and pasted it into the message Nice........but you could really use some theme music. Look up the band Pure Prairie League......They have the perfect tune...it's called "I'll fix your flat tire Merle"........."don't get your sweet country pick'n fingers all covered with earl" Jeff Can't say I know the song, Jeff. Maybe I'll search for it. Sounds interesting. I've never edited a video to add music and this was a quick upload late yesterday, so I really didn't have time for it. I thought your truck was fluid drive. Why so much shifting? Don, aren't you one of the guys that quickly informs those that mention that they have a "Fluid Drive Transmission" that the Fluid Drive is only a fluid coupler between the engine and the clutch, and there were different transmissions used with it? You should know better. My FD unit has a standard 4 speed crash box bolted to the back of it, so I still need to shift it like any other 4 speed truck. I can, however, stop and start with brake and gas only when I want to. Sometimes I'll take off in 3rd, and let the FD do the work, to save one shift. that was fun! took me a second to figure out the blinker buzzard. i thought we were also going to see the haircut. ( i am sooooo jealous, my truck doesn't run and i am loosing my hair... way to rub it in Merle ) I don't have much left either, but what was there needed a trim. Great ride!-not so sure about the turn signal noise maker for seniors though! I agree that it is quite annoying, but I have never once forgot to turn off my turn signal since using it. Fun ride although I don't know how you can stand to listen to talk radio: Had you been playing some oldies on the radio it would have been great. It was kind of a last minute, spur of the moment thing, Tod. If I had planned it out I would have had some 50's music playing on the stereo. I was listening to the morning show guys that I usually listen to, but this week they are on vacation too so they are playing repeats of past stuff. Their "Year so far..." as they call it. driving with the windows rolled up in July...ain't seen that in my neck of the woods before It was still low 70's that morning. I had the driver's side window down on the way back from the hair cut. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted July 8, 2014 Author Report Posted July 8, 2014 man you over rev that thing too much! Now Mark, do you really want to start this argument again? Here ya go, Pussyfoot... this is how you keep up with traffic on I-94 through Michigan. Keep in mind that with my 4% speedo error it was actually more like 78. 2 Quote

Merle Coggins Posted July 9, 2014 Author Report Posted July 9, 2014 I do start in 3rd sometimes, but if there's an incline, or if I want to get going quicker because of traffic I use 2nd. 3rd gear launches are a bit mure leasurely. Taking off in 4th is possible, but not recommended in traffic as it's pretty slow. Quote
52b3b Joe Posted July 9, 2014 Report Posted July 9, 2014 (edited) Is it pretty much to the floor going that fast? My truck takes quite a bit to run at 65 mph with my 3.54. I'm thinking the 3.73 might be a little better with a standard trans rather than my 3.54. I have to downshift to second every time I take a corner, but It cruises great at 65 mph, so Im happy with that. As far as the video, I might have to get one of those cameras! Here is a quick video Mary took of me/the truck last week with my phone. I almost posted it in my truck's thread, but it works here too! Edited July 9, 2014 by 52b3b Joe 2 Quote

Merle Coggins Posted July 9, 2014 Author Report Posted July 9, 2014 Cool video, Joe. Yes, it pretty much to the floor at that speed, but there's still a little left. It motors right along. Quote
