TodFitch
Too bad the weather is going to be so bad. 70°F and partly sunny. Come on guys, couldn't you have picked a day when it was going to be all sunny?
Mark Haymond
"If it a'int broke, don't fix it." I was going to drive to the Bar B Q without touching anything on my P15 Coupe. But a guy at the post office this morning told me my brake lights were not coming on. So I made an exception to the hands-off approach and replaced the stop light switch, from NAPA, eight bucks. Then I double checked the rear brake shoe adjustment, and shot some WD-40 into my noisy spring shackles. While at NAPA I found some bins with recycled shop towels which I ignored. But I did get a recycled front door mat for eight bucks, the kind with rug on the top and rubber on the bottom that businesses use. After an hour of sissor cutting I had carpeting on the firewall and foot areas. Now it looks less like a "project car." See you all there. pflaming
Mark, I had to replace the water pump. The first time it LEAKED. So off it went, cleaned it all up again, back on by noon today and it's holding. Nasty job. Loading tomorrow. Oh, I found my header pipe only had one bolt in, it was too long and not tight, so two new bolts and the aroma in the cab has changed. WHEW! The miagration continues. So TIm, it's time to call out the BAND!

Paul I love you... ....but you are scaring me. Stay safe and have fun. Jeff

Jeff Why not put his truck on the TRACK and give it a good shake down run
pflaming
I like Jeff's suggestion. Put it on the rack and have a safety inspection training session. I was thinking of putting a tow rope in the bed, but thought that might be tempting the "gods". That water pump is not a fun job. I put the pump on first so that I could be certain I did not mess up the seal and so I could get good wrenching on those bolts. BUT to then get those four bolts that holds the fan on is very tricky. I did put a piece of plastic against the coils, those are SHARP!. ' Don, you still have time to fly out. If you do I will give you the honor of taking the truck for a shake down run. Young Ed
Paul you need to buy or make up a fan bolt wrench.
48Dodger
Too bad the weather is going to be so bad. 70°F and partly sunny. Come on guys, couldn't you have picked a day when it was going to be all sunny? Thank goodness.....I was stressing a bit. We had our big rain Thursday morning and its getting prettier by the moment! http://www.weather.com/weather/tenday/Lodi+CA+USCA0623:1:US 48D Edited April 5, 2013 by 48dodger
48Dodger
Ok....Jim Shepard helped out on Tuesday, my son and I have been trying to clean up between the rains, my daughter has been working us into her schedule in between her new job and college classes, Gary stopped by and dropped the Panel off Wednesday.....whew.....Kev and Bud got here different times on Thursday. The new B-1-BQ sticker is on! Found a free refrigerator for the party to help with the food. White seemed boring and it was a bit dingy....so I painted it black and threw on some old racing stickers...tada! Kev was a huge help in setting up the new banner....I designed a simple makshift banner stand to hang the cool banner from Harris Decals. It was not an easy job, though we got a system down for next year. lol. Its 10:00am and Merle should be landing very soon. Kev and Bud just took off to buy a 50 PH from a guy up near Sacramento....should be on display for the show. Oh....and the homemade trophies. I kinda like how the "Best of Show" turned out. 2 L-6 pistons from a 218..... 1 more day....!!!!! 48D Edited April 5, 2013 by 48dodger

Monkey Truck
Loading the truck on the trailer tonight after our baseball game. Hoping to leave the house at 7:00am. Should be there before 10:00am. Really looking forward to meeting/seeing everyone. Eric
BulldogTom
Called up tripple A and upped my membership to 100 miles towing. That way I only need to make the first 50 and AAA will get me the rest of the way. If I show up behind a Yellow Truck, you all have to agree to pull out your tools and get it fixed for me to get back home! Looking forward to seeing all of you. And especially visiting the "Garage Majal" and seeing the B-1-BBQ in action again. Tom Hollister, CA

Jim Shepard
Charlie (Hemi-powered B3B) will be here in the morning about 9:30 and we'll caravan to Tim's. May have Ted with us. DJ194950
Tim, A while back, Jim Shepard mentioned that he may like to put my car on your rack to check out the OD trans and install. Now that Pflaming wants to check under his truck after the trip up, Are you planning a sign up sheet for a time to use the rack?? Might get busy with all the trucks planning to be there. Have you assembled an inspection team?? I've been thinking about bringing a tablet and my auto stethoscope and get opinions on a new new noise in my motor. A prize to awarded later, after the problem?? is correctly Identified?? Sorry I did not mean one of your prizes, but one of my own. Golden stethoscope?? See ya tomorrow! pflaming
Signing off for tonight. I trust I've sufficiently prepared the truck. I put my primiere AAA card in my wallet. If I have trouble, we'll load it up. I meet Mark Hammond in Fresno @ 6:30, Doug and a friend in Modesto at 9:00 then up to the Q. Got to admit I'm a bit nervous but it's time to quit cutting bait and start fishing. Wishing all who are driving safe and dependable rides. Merle Coggins
I got out here yesterday morning a little before noon. I met up with Jim Shepard, Tim, and his Son at the Squeeze Inn in Galt. It was a great lunch with great guys. After that Jim headed home and I followed Tim to his place. The rest of the day we finished up the last minute details, picked over Keven's "score", and relaxed around the campfire with Keven, Tim, Bud, and his wife Sher (spelling?). What a day. Now I sit here at 6:30 AM, (been awake for a couple hours already) not a creature stirring except for the hamsters, daylight just showing up, getting ready for another great day. IT'S PARTY TIME!!!!!!
