For a little change of pace, I would guess some members have restored some tractors. If others do not mind, I would like to see some of them. Would that be OK?

We found our father's John Deere. My brother had it restored. It's coming to CA in July.

This picture is of a 1948 Case VA that my grandfather bought new. It is in the same kind of shape as my PH, except the engine is in good shape. I use it to do my arena and small chores around the house. I have replaced most seals in it, redid the radiator a couple years ago, other than that she is as she was in 48. The best site I know of on line for old tractors is yesterdays tractors. They offer the same kind of help as this forum does for PH trucks.

These are photos of 4 Massey Harris tractors I have restored. They were all a "piece of cake" compared to the '51 B3C I'm working on now. I may have bitten more than I can chew this time. Nevertheless, I am having fun.

Here is another picture of the Case VA that I have. My grandfather is on the tractor, Lee Warlie, and either Joe or Will Warlie are on the baler. It was taken about 1950 on our family ranch. They are using a Case hand tie baler.

It's a 1982 vintage 4x4 3 cylinder diesel. Bought it from the original owner 2 years ago and its been a great workhorse at my place in Maine and Mass. Currently it needs a throw out bearing so its sitting under a tarp in the back yard. This weekend if the parts arrive i'll be breaking her in half.

Front end loader and backhoe are original equipment options. Tractor has AG style tires that are great for excavating, but terrible on lawns. The prior owner gave me the aluminum snow bucket as part of the deal.

I have not done anything to this tractor yet, but my plan is to tear it down and restore it when time permits.

Does this count as a tractor restoration? The photos are of a toy John Deere Crawler my grandfather bought me in about 1964 or so. I found new tracks and a smoke stack for it on Ebay. Cleaned it up and put the replacement parts on, she is good for the sand box again!

It could be "on topic" if it was a Massey-Ferguson tractor made between 1938 and 1947. The MH101, 101 Super and 201 used Chrysler Industrial six cylinder flathead engines. Quite a luxury for a 2 plow rating tractor at that time.

They also said it was the first tractor made by a full line farm equipment manufacturer with electric start as standard equipment. SOME feature!

You could put in your Massey Super 92 combine as well, they also used the Chrysler engine.

Here's my 53 JD AO with our oldest son.(orchard) My uncle purchased this new-I've had it since '94. Also shown is my 43 JD LI. The LI was a basket case when I bought it in '91. I still have both along with a Worthington Golf Chief that has a Chrysler industrial 6 with 4 spd transmission. That is the next restoration project.. Had another AO that I sold about 10 yrs ago along with a JD A tricycle, and a Case VA. I traded the VA for the Worthington. Also have a Model A doodlebug that I learned to drive on when I was about 7. It's in rough shape, but I can't get rid of it - too many memories.

Southern. Milford. Up Rt 3 off of 101.

Not too far from here, got relations in Hollis and friends in new Ipswich. Almost drove up to jaffrey tonight to check out the show at Kimballs.

Dad's '66 Farmall 1206 blew out the original injector pump in '03, and while removing that, I noticed the turbocharger was split in two...so that tractor eventually was fixed up real nice for a spell. We took it to the local tractor show in '04; a neighbor's 4WD International 1266 is a very close relative

love the H and the M....grew up with those two as our primary tractors on the farm with the 756 as the third. Now the farm has about 4 more and the M and H are sitting for the most part, but my nephew would NEVER let my dad part with either of them as he is a IH nut...and I have no room for them.

Wow! Trip down memory lane for me looking at your tractors. My dad used to be a dairy farmer (still has the land but is retired from milking now) and he had a few tractors like yours. I know of 2 8N's, a 9N, a Fordson Major, A Fordson Super Major, a 801 Diesel, and a John Deere 1010 Dozer.

He still has the last two plus some newer ones. A Ford 5000, a 5600, and a 6600.

I hope to get and restore the 801 diesel someday and would love to find a Fordson Major to restore. Loved that tractor. I'm attaching a picture of my then 2 year old son on Dad's Super Major the day he sold it.

Curretnly looking for something small to manage two acres of field grass I inherited from my father. Want something that I can put a 5 foot or so belly mower on. the 42 in JD lawn tractor cuts it but want to cut my time down. I have a Farmall Super A, a Case B, an 8n, Massey harris Pony, and an Allis Chamlers in my sights. Am leaning toward the Farmall just because parts seem pretty easy to come by. I also hear that with the ford N series 2nd gear is too slow and 3rd is too fast. Any comments by experienced tractor guys would be appreciated.

my JD lawn tractor has been a disappointment ot me from day one..have you considered the cost of just a self powered finish mower you could pull behind your current lawn tractor at maybe an offset and get double coverage in a single pass..pull it with the Ply Bz Cp if needed

Currently I trailer the mower out to the site. I want something thats turn key stored there in the barn The pull behinds would likely cut my time but the storage hitching and of an auxilliary piece would be a bit of a bother due to conditions.

Thr JD was my dad's it gotta be going on 10 years old and is still working good, but trailering it is getting old.

Farmall A all the way, nothing but good words from people I've talked to over the years.

The Farmal Cub is also a very simple and reliable tractor and its a nice size for two acres.

A friend has a property in the foothills, he has his place fenced and he gets two lambs every spring. They mow his grass and at the end of summer he has meat. He built a small 'barn' and put a timer on the door and on an automatic feeder. The lambs go in to feed in the evenings and the door closes and opens by the timer.

Nice system.
