pflaming Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 (edited) Attached are my gauges from KEVEN!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! AM I PLEASED !!! My wife brought out the box, I said, it's Christmas in March! When I showed her the gauges, she said, "give me the camera!" Sorry for the face, but thats what God gave me! How did you finish your PH dash? I collected pictures of dash for quite some time to see what I liked. I'll let you post your own, but there are alot of great, imaginative dashs. Might be a nice thread for a beginner. Will be installing tomorrow and then I can complete mine and will post the results. Again, my thanks to Keven. Edit: The pictures do not do them justice. The back is as beautiful as the front! PROFESSIONAL all the way! Edited November 4, 2017 by pflaming Quote
Desotodav Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 WOW... great job Paul (and Kevin). Love that grin from ear to ear mate!!! Here's a couple of pics (before and after) of the dash in my 52 Desoto truck... I just have to chrome the knobs and install the new ash tray (with new 'ASH' knob) - thanks again Paul. Desotodav Quote
Jeff Balazs Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 Wow Paul; Those look great! The before and after photo really tells the story. Keven just sent mine back on the way to me...... I should have taken a before picture too......but they were so ugly I didn't want a reminder. Can't wait to see your dash when it is all done. Post's like this really help me and I imagine others to keep going. It is great to share in everyone's success's. Lord knows' there are enough trials and tribulations trying to bring these old trucks back up to snuff. I just spent a couple of hours cleaning the brake and clutch linkage on mine. What a mess! A thankless job if there ever was one. Keep at it Man! Jeff Quote
B1B Keven Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 Thanks guys. I really like those speedometer needles I buy from England. This is what I made up for mine: Quote
buds truck Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 great pix of the gauges and of you! you asked for pix of pilothouse dashes, here is mine...... but it's a transplant from a 49 Plymouth..... Quote
pflaming Posted March 30, 2012 Author Report Posted March 30, 2012 I transplated one too! That's my grandson's corner, he loves it. Cutting out the old one had to be fun. Will look very nice, post when completed. Quote
tom'sB2B Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 A big ditto. Keven did a great job on my gauges too. By the way, Paul, its fun to put a face to a name and voice Quote
48Dodger Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 Great looking gauges! Hope you guys are planning on coming to the BBQ this year...would love to see them in person. 48D Quote
Desotodav Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 Kevin: I see your English speedo needle seems to resemble the ones fitted to the older trucks.. like on this old Fargo dash for sale on Ebay over here at present... http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FARGO-INSTRUMENT-PANEL-/160774841714?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item256eed6572#ht_500wt_1413 . The same seller has a really nice 30's Plymouth horn ring listed for $20 in amongst his other Mopar items too! I'm not associated with the seller in any way. Desotodav Quote
Merle Coggins Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 Here's my before and after pics. I took them apart and took the faces to a friend of mine that had a vinyl graphics sign shop. She made up some vinyl decals and installed them for me. I got 'em back looking great and reassembled the gauges. Merle Quote

Here is a before, during, and after shot of one that was repainted the wrong color and was in need of a face lift. These clocks are 20" in diameter. Blasted to bare metal. pflaming Posted March 30, 2012 Author Report Posted March 30, 2012 (edited) The guages are in, now to wire it all up. I painted the sides of the gauge mountings a flat black, the chrome rings do not show as well in the dash pictures. I also have two glove doors, one blue, one with the NE "N". If I had thought of it earlier, I would have put the "N" in the center of the speedo. My glove door was BAD, so I gave it a good rub with a very fine 3M 'brillo' pad and gave it three coats of clean, I was surprised and please, now I have two good doors. It's not new, but it is improved! My thanks to Reg for the radio, MOPAR 610, and Keven for the refurbished gauges. Edited November 4, 2017 by pflaming Quote

52b3b Joe Posted April 30, 2012 Report Posted April 30, 2012 I have to say that I too am VERY PLEASED with Keven's work! He does an outstanding job! I got my gauges back today and can't be happier. You may think they look amazing in the picture, but they are 100 times better in person. Quote
bach4660 Posted May 1, 2012 Report Posted May 1, 2012 when I went to 12 volt I changed to electronic gauges Quote
MMcKinney Posted May 1, 2012 Report Posted May 1, 2012 I did the same thing. I sold my orginal gauges to Keven and went with modern gauges. I used the gauge plates from Doc's Custom and went with the white face Omega guages. This is how they fit and a tempory dash lay out. The Temp/Volt gauge has 4 LED lights for left, right, high beem & alt indicators or what ever you want. MMcKinney Caldwell, ID Quote

wallytoo Posted May 1, 2012 Report Posted May 1, 2012 Here's a couple of pics (before and after) of the dash in my 52 Desoto truck... Desotodav looks like you need to have long legs to operate the starter pedal "down under". or a passenger. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted May 1, 2012 Report Posted May 1, 2012 Reg..me like your clock..time (pun intended) well spent.. Quote
dave5711 Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 I've almost got mine back on the road Here's the gauges Quote
albolton Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 the Dash in the 54-56 is alot different than the Pilot house..but ill post a pic of mine anyways..picked up a right side bezel on ebay..had it water jet for the new gauges and then chrome plated..kinda looks stock to someone that may have never seen one, the Gauges are marshall...made in California and have some very cool features Quote
pflaming Posted May 5, 2012 Author Report Posted May 5, 2012 (edited) WOW! That is NICE! It's a variation of the 51 /53 'tower dash, except the 'towers' are horizontal. The gauges are magnificant! Well done. I love to see the variety, I've said that before but I just love the creativity, the same truck(s) yet different. Edited May 5, 2012 by pflaming Quote
