I don't know about the rest of the country - but we're having a good

'ol blizzard here in southwest Missouri.

They said it's the first time they've ever issued a blizzard warning in

MO. And they were right. Winds blowing about 30 mph and been

snowing since around midnight.

Went out to knock some snow off the bird feeder.....not far from the

house. The stuff had drifted up to knee deep. Most places in the

area have closed. Probably at least a foot has come down and it's

still going. Supposed to end sometime later today (Tues). Hope

they're right.

How's everyone else doing???

Here in the Boston suburbs it is snowing to beat the band! We have had over five feet of snow so far this winter. Not much compared to Buffalo, but a lot for us. I just got in from snowblowing about 6 inches. We are supposed to get another 3 or 4 inches tonight, then your storm is arriving tomorrow and is supposed to drop another 4 to eight inches. The snowbanks at the end of my driveway are head height now, not sure what to do tomorrow. Moose is about 20 mi. west of me, I'm sure he would back up what I'm saying.

Can't wait for spring!

Bob take, care, stay off the roads, if you can get to a Super Market very close nearby, stock up on a few things. But do not go driving , I lived all my life where we have severe winter storms and Blizzards, and folks still go out, and some get stranded or worse killed.

I heard this storm was comin, it's slated to hit Chicago through Southern Ontario Canada too. Chicago is expecting up to 24 inches of snow.

You want to be prepared in case your electricity goes out, have a plan just in case.

Post some pics when you can, and stay safe.

We are kind straight north of you Bob, about 900 miles, but no storm is coming through here, just sunny cold arctic air, with over night lows of -20 or so, with a windchill near -40.

I don't think it's going to stop this time! The snow in my back yard is almost up to the first floor windows!! At least three feet high and rising. There are piles head high all up and down my street, and I'm not short.

We ran errands and went to the store yesterday.

Staying home today and probably tomorrow.

Looked out the front window a little while ago, saw a neighbor

who lives on the next street over was stuck in his pickup just

after turning off our road. The snow is up to his bumper.

He eventually got out and walked on home. I told him I'll

keep an eye on the truck along to make sure nobody messes with it.

That storm is supposed to hit Toronto tonight and tomorrow. If the forcast is accurate it will be the most snow we've had since 2008.

27 degrees at 5:00 in central Texas, no rain or snow, just cold wind. Supposed to get into the teens tonight, was 72 degrees yesterday this time. I am glad that we will not get the snow or freezing rain supposed to clear and start a gradual warm up through the week end before the next front hits.

We headed to Myrtle Beach on Monday so I'll miss the 6-18 inches of snow that are expected back home in Michigan. We arrived today with about 53F. JohnS

Wow! Usually it's all windy, rainy, gray and "blowin' a gale" around here this time of year. Today was warm and sunny!!! Turned into the "banana belt". I'm pretty sure winter ain't done yet, though! we shall see....

The blizzard is definately here. Lots of wind, ThunderSnow, all the good stuff. Got out of work an hour early and still got home the normal time. Shop is closed tomorrow in anticipation of more nasty.

The dogs are thrilled, playing in the snow.

Figure we will tackle the removal of it all tomorrow a couple of times as it is supposed to go until 3PM. We are due for a good one, its been about 12 years since the last 21 incher.

19 here in Dallas today with 40 mph wind gusts. Not much snow this time but we do have about a 1/2 inch of ice on everything. What snow we did get today was going straight sideways. Supposed to be down to 8 tonight then warm to a toasty 19 for a high tomorrow with a chance of snow then down to 7 tomorrow night. The a forecasted balmy 23 on Thursday.

Cheese Heads here for the Super Bowl feel like they never left home. :D

Yesterday early mornig we were hit with freezing rain. Thick coating all over the trees, cars, etc. They tried to keep it clear, but it got worse over the course of the day. Still raining this morning, but the temp is up a bit, so may not be adding to the layers of ice just now.

Today is the first time I have ever NOT gone in to work because of the weather. It's nasty around here. I was in north central Iowa yesterday and came home last evening. From just north of Madison to home it kept getting worse on the roads, between the blowing, drifting, snow and the accumulation it was a wild ride. I got home around 8:30 last night and had to snow blow my driveway just to get in. That was another 30 minutes of hell as most of the snow would just blow back in my face as I tried to get it off the driveway. I finally got it cleared out enough to get in.

This morning my truck and the side of the driveway next my house is bare, but the other side is a 5 foot drift. I can see where my neighbor got out this morning. The zig zag tracks down the street looks like it was a struggle to get anywhere. There's well over a foot of snow on the street, but there are several drifts much taller than that. I'm not going anywhere until it calms down this afternoon.

We are now having rolling power outages in the Dallas area. Our electricity was off for about 30 minutes. They said on the news that we are having a statewide power emergency and the Energy Resources Council Of Texas is turning off power in rolling neighborhoods for 15 to 30 minutes.

Glad you arrived home safely Merle, winter storms are nasty to drive any length in, I speak from experience.

Weather is nasty in many places, Dallas is about 15 right now, where Green Bay is about 20. Supposed to warm up to mid 50s for Dallas by Saturday.

Joplin Missouri is cold at about 2-3f, and is going down to -10 to -12 tonight. Winnipeg is about -5 f right now, 10 f later today, 25 f by tomorrow morning, and is supposed to be 34f by Friday, might even get a warmer day time high than Joplin.

We have a lot of snow here too, but because of a deep freeze lately, it won't melt much with a few warmer days. The good news, the days are getting longer, and the sun is getting stronger. Happy Ground Hog Dog day Phil....
