  1. If it doesn't drive Jerry, I'll swing by and pick it up so we can bang some of that mess out. We'll get'er back on the road. 48D
  2. I'm doing that!....I'll try it on Mark's truck 1st, it needs some bling. 48D
  3. I know how you feel Jeff.....you get used to certain "voices" chiming in, then they just seem to fade. Often members will give a heads up or someone knows something....but the worst is losing someone. I hate that. 48D
  4. Nice Red....what color brand and code??? Just curious..... 48D
  5. His last post on Youtube is dated 10/2020. I'm sure he finished his truck for the time being and has spent less time on the forum. He brought his truck to the BBQ 2 years ago, it looked/sounded great. I believe his biggest passion is horses. This was from September 2020 48D
  6. You're a mountain of man Brent...Tom was probably bailing out before he crashed into your boots! 48D
  7. I imagine that since the truck was used by mostly farmers and rural families back in the day, (low tech road and no street lights), It may have been a simple way to see those big fenders when turning right or left in the darkness..... or to see more to the peripherals.... These are all guesses of course, but since they are somewhat frosted lenses and not clear like the headlights..... I think it may have been to see the location of the front of the vehicle..... They were an were options for some years, not standard. 48D
  8. Miss you DC..... 48D
  9. The same serial number is stamped on the frame of the truck that tag came with. It's 1950 1/2 Ton...... Might have been scrapped, might be at the next car show...whose knows. It doesn't take up much space.....I say keep around. 48D
  10. Yep....made my next point. I wasn't pointing to the ride height so much as the ride quality. 48D
  11. I've always had radiators shops NOT paint the radiator.....I take care of that myself for the reason you just laid out. 48D
  12. Note: I have a picture file of all the tools Brent has made.....just incase....lol. 48D
  13. hmmmm....... 1. I'd finally have a place for all the firewood on the island. 2. More big trucks the merrier. 3. You'd have room for another big truck back home. 4. Your wife might have hope for you yet that the "Collecting Old Trucks Disease" hasn't taken hold yet....... 5. You'd be guilty of making me lie to my wife "No....no, that truck has always been here!"? 48D
  14. I still have a cab for ya here if you screw up......also have a pass fender, a pretty good driver fender and ....nope that's it. I'm using the frame and such for the 1948 panel truck. I'll just keep them til need'em....... 48D
  15. I've seen other videos of his.....kinda fun. 48D
  16. Just did a quick YouTube search I found a "dude" type video, but he makes my point about adjustable coilover shocks. Maybe you like them, maybe not, but it might be the ride you're looking for. 48D
  17. Shocks dampen motion, springs (leaf/coil) give you support.....bags for trucks are mostly an assist to the rear suspension for heavy loads. If you're talking about bagging it all round like a tuner car or racer......that's more difficult to set-up on a consistent bases. The technology on coil-overs is pretty impressive now a days, though more spendy then bags. I'm curious what you have in mind. 48D
  18. "Win or lose.......just glad to be in the race and not sittin in the stands wishing I was racing." me.... at Stockton Speedway circa 2006 48D
  19. I wondered about all those images. I was actually going to ask Lisa about them, as I'm sure there were more than just cars. I have her on Facebook and get comments from her all the time, though I have never "talked" with her on any other platform (ie the phone, etc) The fact DC loved pictures of friends family and cars (like most of us) I'm sure the issue has come up with his family. He heavily photo documented findings of his family's involvement in the Civil War, for example. Documentation of his car was just an extension of that. I think your effort HRT, is outstanding....as a guy whose had the benefit of Don's photo's for 14 plus years..... I Thank You. 48D
  20. I still have my bottles for the next Clements Tailgate BBQ.....2020 show cancelled ...... Looking forward to sharing them! 48D
  21. I know the front of the bed is curved.....need a picture of that. The doors were suicide doors at one time....need an update there. And the engine was a 360 with some warmed over cool parts.....need a picture of that too. Now get on it!!! ? Glad to see it so close!...can't wait to see if gets its own vintage trailer!! 48D
  22. Good thing your mug was partly in the picture, otherwise I would thought it was lifted off the interwebs. ? 48D
  23. Its an old Thread I did on the gas tank innards...sorry about the photobucket images...I don't pay them. But you get idea of what's going on. 48D ps The thread is back in the day when we didn't try to stay on topic.
  24. Maybe these will help. Possibly answer a few questions anyway. 48D
  25. Pretty sure Brendt is part of the Justice League and fighting crime with his Dodge-Mobile. I mean, look how fast this dude is. 48D (sidekick)
