  1. The folks who see everything that might happen as an opportunity for wealth. And the lawyers who enable them
  2. Hello Neighbor. Nice car. i like DeSotos
  3. It took me about 10 tries to set my Sission choke on my 52 correctly. Mostly the part about holding the throttle about 1/3 way open. It seems my idea of what 1/3 was different from those who wrote the manual. Now though it works great.
  4. 1952 Plymouth Cranbrook?
  5. I had that site on my favs for years until the last computer crash. thanks for reposting it
  6. Nice to know that they are available. i have never had any issues with overheating to this point but still?
  7. At least most have drain plugs unlike modern plastic tanks
  8. I got mine from Kanter and although they were close I had to sand them with 36 grit paper to get them to fit. No issues afterward. Brakes work quite well.
  9. I went the POR15 route on my 52 about 13 years ago and have had no return of rust. Not as fancy as the one with top coat but the under carriage is still in good condition.
  10. Love the clamp mount. Brings back old memories
  11. My 52 with the 503 or 505 is simply attached using a set screw behind the knob at the back of the heater. Loosen the clamp and the set screw and pull it out.
  12. After having my cataracts removed a couple of years ago I found my self having to buy my first set of safety glasses ever. Always just wore the regular glasses and now not needing them I got tired really quick of getting eyefuls of grit while under the cars.
  13. In Illinois we to have a complete retest at 75 and every 4 years after. i m wondering if going through the CDL test again at that age is worth the trouble . Parallel parking a 40 foot school bus was a thrill the first time. Not to mention the yearly CDL Medical exam
  14. What type and years of car?
  15. I bought one for mine from NAPA about 12 years ago and never any problems with install or operation.
  16. Just in case anyone is interested the Old Plymouths Forum started by Bill Ward several years ago and now run by Rich and Steve is ceasing operation at the end of the month. http://www.oldplymouths.com/
  17. The intake manifold gasket on my 52 Plymouth started to leak and the only symptom was a real reluctance to Idle. This affected all the cylinders, not just a few. I would buy a compression gauge and check the engine myself. If there is a great variation in compression from cylinder to cylinder then you can further trouble shoot. You also will find out which ones may be bad, I.E. three in a row or every other one or?
  18. Real Men stand and read manuals!
  19. Very nice
  20. Did you try writing them and asking them about it? Looks interesting.
  21. Always great to hear about someone using their car. I am starting to force myself to make time for at least an hour a week just cruising. And yours looks like a lot of fun.
  22. One of the many reasons I rarely look at Fleabay any more. Limited stock and astronomical pricing
  23. I hope that the "Fill out Your Profile" page or you do nothing else is not a regular thing. And then I find two photos attached to my page that have nothing to do with me. How do I get rid of them and where did they come from?
  24. Timing? Have you checked that?
