  1. Looks like a Challenge but with a great reward at the end. What a fun truck to have
  2. I had a TR-3, a TR-4A, and an MGC-GT. Not to mention a few Sunbeam Alpines. I can relate to you.
  3. This is part of a whole series that was on local cable for a while, airplanes, cars etc are redone and repaired. I watched several but it was a few years ago.
  4. I like that one a lot better than the early Corvettes.
  5. Our prayers for you and all yours. Extremely sad to here of this. Cannot imagine how it must be but only wish you folks can stay strong throughout the times to come.
  6. Sad News. Condolences to his family.
  7. We paid about $700 to have a 2010 Kia Soul brought from Massachusetts to Northeast Illinois in March in a covered trailer. 3 day service.
  8. How many flushes did it take to clean it out? That is a new one to me for anything.
  9. Sigh, 55%. The rods messed me up more that anything else. Often got makes right but messed up years.
  10. Happy Fourth to all!!!
  11. Interesting for sure. I do like those models.
  12. You can also get underneath with a big pipe wrench and with the car in gear and the rear wheels on the ground, see if there is any play by trying to turn the shaft with the wrench. If really bad, you probably can do it by hand
  13. Greed is a terrible thing when it takes hold.
  14. And don't give up right away. Often takes several attempts to succeed
  15. I bought the ones for my 52 Cranbrook from Rock Auto and had no complaints. 2 years ago and still fine.
  16. I bought mine about 13 years ago from these folks and they have been great. Right size and length. Price was then reasonable(although I have forgotten what it was) and delivery was fairly quick. http://antiqueautobattery.com/index.html
  17. I know of you. We have common acquaintances and I used to subscribe to your news letter. Anything for early 50's Plymouth. I do already have a parts book. I live not far from you.
  18. I too have the fun of Arthritis and type two diabetes. Then there's my neighbor who has had a home based auto repair shop since I moved here 30 years ago. His just found out at 75 he has rheumatoid arthritis. As we age our bodies become our worst enemy. Regarding automatic conversions if anyone is interested you can check here: http://www.wilcap.com/. Wishing you the best you can have Don.
  19. Big market around Chicago for high priced free range chickens and also eggs. Cost in market is quite a bit higher than regular especially in the high class suburbs allong Lake Michigan and central Lake County where the money is. Upscale Markets are becoming very popular.
  20. There is a house about 4 miles from mine out in the more rural county area where they have a full size caboose in the rear yard on a short stretch of rail. Been there for years.
  21. I remember a friend who had nylon tires on his 59 Plymouth and every morning the car shook for the first couple of miles
  22. I also have changed several clutch assemblies over the years and have never given any thought to replacing anything in any special order. I have never had any trouble from this policy
  23. I think that the Chinese manufacturers seem to have the old Philosophy that a lot of American companies used to have. Bleep the customer one time real good. If he never comes back, who cares cause we got him once. Not good in the long term or if you get good competition(IE. US auto manufactures up to the late 80's or so) but great as long it it works.
  24. " Then erase all that junk in your signature line as nobody cares to read it every time you make a posting." Showing how sharp I am, I never even noticed the Sig length.
