  1. My old lady is a keeper too. Never gives me a hard time on money spent. Always pestering me to go for a ride in one of the vehicles. She doesn't like to get dirty, but helps out when I need a hand.
  2. I used head bolts and then retorqued. No problem so far.
  3. PO had the pad and carpet glued to a rusty floor and over the MC access door. What a mess. I was able to save the carpet thankfully.
  4. Thanks for the help. It turned out be a 1952, 251. Still has good compression. I went ahead and pulled the trigger on it. I got it tucked away until I figure out what to do with it ?
  5. I'm going to take a look at a 25" spitfire engine for sale next Saturday. Not much information besides photo. The throttle linkage makes me think it came out of a truck. Any info gleaned from the photo would be appreciated. Thinking that if it's a decent engine, I would rebuild at put into my B2B.
  6. Is this what you're talking about? https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F152747585662
  7. I've been driving my 1947 D24 a little more now. Try ing to sort out the squeeks and rattles after the rebuild. I keep grinding it from 1st into second. I figured it needed a linkage adjustment, but I have found if I double clutch it doesn't grind. Is this normal? I know it's necessary when down shifting. Very curious. I don't have this problem in my 1950 B2B. Any thoughts?
  8. Mike's Carburetor sells them. He also has a nice tutorial on how to rebuild them on YouTube
  9. Here is an updated card ?
  10. Oooh. Can't wait to see that movie! BTW, Are you on a call list for movie cars?
  11. You might research Quick N Easy roof racks
  12. Ralph I would humbly suggest that you buy a new battery first. I have had the experience of my starter not disengaging when I had a weak battery. A new battery might solve the problem... You need a new one anyway ?
  13. The previous owner had carpet put in with a foam mat. Spray glued the whole thing in right over the MC access cover and rust holes. Took me several days to scrap all that sh*t off. I was able to salvage the carpet.
  14. Here is an interesting article on the Case 150. The largest steam tractor ever built. https://www.farmforum.net/farm_forum/hours-m-go-into-recreating-case-that-was-billed-as/article_07f84834-1a46-5c79-9740-25349715a6a2.html
  15. You are correct. Kerosene was a cheaper alternative to gasoline. Not my video. Just found it on the tube.
  16. I just need to figure out an excuse to my wife to buy one of these Rumelys..and win the lottery ?
  17. Did a 2.5 hour tour of the tractor meuseum at the JUMP building in Boise. It was fantastic. http://jumpboise.org/vintage-tractors-and-steam-engines. I am blown away by the engineering that went into these tractors and steam engines and they're over a century old. Really neat place.
  18. Both carbs were built by George Asche and mounted to his aluminum intake. I put them on out of the box. I've been trying to adjust the speed and mixture screws with one carb and then trying to match with the other. I will have to search for vacuum leaks. If all else fails, I guess I will check float bowl hights and jets. I'm running a mechanical fuel pump. Just thought that maybe someone has an adjustment procedure that I'm not doing.
  19. I've been working on adjusting the idle. It's just not quite where I want it. It's still a little rough. I am wondering if anyone has come up with a good procedure to adjust duel carbs. I am using the tool in the picture below to sync the two carbs. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
  20. Another great bbq as always. Tim and Steph a gracious hosts. Amazing sunsets and rises and view of the Sierras. Loved waking up to the sound of grazing cows. Here is a photo of apple orchards not far from the ranch. See you next year.
  21. I'm sorry. I was incorrect. As Don and Ed say; it's the difference in the flanges.
