I agree with Sniper, counter a bit if you can....if they refuse, at least they are not in a position to fire you either. Layout and be ready to present to the boss what benefit it would be for you to be in their employment. Best wishes for improving your work environment.

a DKJ points out, install the seal, place cover onto engine...insert the hub onto the crank allowing the hub to now set the cover and seal centric. Now carefully snug down your cover bolts.

the later models used locks with longer stems...as are the stems on the door handles..could be from one of those. They look like ones I removed from a 50 Dodge

I am not aware of a modern sealed unit that will bolt on......the main nut has to remain in play as it adjusts total advance movement....cutting the line and slipping on a rubber hose is simple and effective and keep in mind the seat of the advance unit and the carb is set for ferrule use....if you search for a ferrule, a good seal is needed at the threads and you threads should be the same so not to damage the carb and distributor bases . Cut the tube with reasonable length you can slip the hose on up to the base nut and hide as much of the original as any replacement nipple will allow

I had an audible version.....just charge the capacitor with the coil wire....set it on the counter, Ozzie would be sure to pick it up and if you heard him yell, it held and then discharged as it should. Well, it worked at least the first time I did this....he got gun shy right quick like.

added another tool to the inventory today...should have had this purchased long ago.... procrastinated a bit in hope I would find one at the swap meets.....no such luck so ordered in this Snap-On branded item....I am certain now that I have this, next swap meet I will be tripping over them.

I hope the side cutters was not awarded for 'CUTTING CORNERS' while the pliers did not stand out in the photo, the gold label did. You folks enjoy the festivities....grill up some long tail rabbits maybe...lol

shopping about is still the game you play based on initial cost plus shipping. You will need to buy your relay for secondary contacts (load)....what and where you buy is your call, search for solid state relay dc-dc....you will need to know your load amperage....or if unsure buy based on an overkill guess. Typically online these are available yet at about the same cost you will pay for a new Bosch style mechanical relay at the big box store...

I understand the fact that a non, and I hate this word, restored, vehicle should not shine like new money and folks want that survivor look, (not to be confused with rusty patina) But a refinished vehicle, would be very hard pressed NOT to have the shine. Anyway, about any paint product line will offer an additive that will flatten the finish by the degree you are looking. If doing your own painting, this will be a mix and spray test to get that look, if farming out the paint to a shop, I do recommend you discuss this with them as to brand of paint and level of gloss. Many have been using X line of product for all their needs and some don't stray from their patent routine. Stay in his comfort zone for best results whatever the level of shine. PS that picture I do like, the little lady is so well framed within the opening of the rear glass.

both deliver fuel....maintenance convenance and ease of finding a pump along the road if your electric goes out is much easier than finding a mechanical and could be all the difference on the trip home, on its own power or atop a flat top hauler. as an aside, many use the electric as a priming device and switch to mechanical once started....in doing this if in the event of mechanical failure you can still activate the electrical pump to continue driving.

this only shows lack of cleaning the finish as it should be done.....

finished the winch install....as I was unable to get a remote for the older model, I bought a new winch that is cable or remote. I also made the bracket base to the same dimensions of the other winch so either winch will work on either lift or the trailer. I also carried down from the overhead this shelf unit as I finally put my plan into action of putting the two walking foot sewing machines upstairs of the shop. I was about to chunk this when taking it apart I saw how quick and easy it would be to modify for the back wall on a barn bay.

my friend here is about 10 years older than I. He just sent me an e-mail that he bought a car yesterday from a much older gentleman. My friend was born 11/43 and the guy he bought the car from was born 5/43 so I guess at this age, months can used to define age....

Taking a grateful break due to weather
Plymouthy Adams replied to Rodney_Hamon's topic in Off Topic (OT)
that is taking St Patrick days to an extreme don't you think ? I have been known for a bit of green gas also....but of a slightly different variety....? -
and this is not to laugh....I am a member of Hoarder Anon. well, at least I should be. Upstairs of the shop putting a bit of arrangement to the chaos and came across a small bag of lug nut cover caps I held in reserve should I ever lose on the Porsche. Flash forward, sold the car long ago, found it after about 28 years gone...bought it back...one of the lug nut caps is missing....so it pays to hold onto stuff.......this phenom is the hoarder's creedo...I am not or ever been in denial or defense...don't have time for non-believers...!!! Little ramble on a coffee break as I cannot stay focused long on cleaning before taking a break.

47 Dodge Turkey Truck Build
Plymouthy Adams replied to Young Ed's topic in Mopar Flathead Truck Forum
I told you in a PM this morning I was hit for a late fee of a car that also never had a title in GA and will never ever be issues a title in Georgia....but it was just a token amount, 5.00. Good to have this process behind you I know.....I know I am happy this one is registered and insured now. Will get the YOM tag confirmed over next week, weather just too nasty to be out and about today. Back to my regular schedule event, clearing the upstairs of the garage to move my two industrial sewing machines into. This project has been stalled for a long time. Installed a new servo motor for the newer unit so I control the rate of sew easier, never could get the hang of them clutch motors. The 50's model Singer, new needle bar and did a complete alignment only this time it has the proper needle in it also. It is sewing nicely now with heavy #69 thread...but the stitch is a bit herringbone look as the feed dog is an oscillating arm and not like later conventional rotary cam. Pic of the newer machine....I do not think I have one of the Singer 151W1 -
thanks, this is a Stude model....bit rough and an good twenty footer car but still happy to see it sitting about.
