47 dodge 1.5 ton Posted April 13, 2023 Report Posted April 13, 2023 (edited) That’s great! Please tell us about your build a little. I believe this is only the 2nd tested flathead that I have seen recorded and reported. Can you show the HP & torque curve? Edited April 13, 2023 by 47 dodge 1.5 ton 1 Quote

I've heard of several of these flatheads that were tested for power and torque, but this is only the second one I've heard of that has exceeded 200 HP. Most people who hopped up their engines and had them tested did not get very close to that. Quote
Dave72dt Posted April 15, 2023 Report Posted April 15, 2023 That picture explains the dyno results. I don't even want to guess the dollars invested. Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted April 15, 2023 Report Posted April 15, 2023 It needs four bolt mains...and a girdle. 1 Quote
sidevalvepete Posted April 15, 2023 Report Posted April 15, 2023 Now that shows some passion for the flathead...love it. Looking forward to reading more about this project. Quote

Dodgeb4ya Posted April 18, 2023 Report Posted April 18, 2023 (edited) These seven main engines came in the biggest Dodge 2-3/4 to 4 ton trucks.. 10 bolt or cast spoke wheel trucks. Edited April 29, 2023 by Dodgeb4ya 5 Quote
sidevalvepete Posted April 19, 2023 Report Posted April 19, 2023 Great pics dodgeb4ya. Dunno whether any of those trucks made it to NZ but one of them would sure look good on the farm here... Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted April 19, 2023 Report Posted April 19, 2023 (edited) I doubt it if any did end up in NZ...pretty low production run of them. Ya never know though.. Edited April 20, 2023 by Dodgeb4ya 5 Quote
ggdad1951 Posted April 19, 2023 Report Posted April 19, 2023 Those should be the trucks with the extended hood and fenders, about 10" longer if I remember right. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted April 19, 2023 Report Posted April 19, 2023 whole new meaning to: Good golly Miss Moly Quote

Veemoney Posted August 17, 2023 Report Posted August 17, 2023 I like it a lot. Can't wait to see once you get it in the truck. Have you confirmed if you need to modify the hood or just run without one? Quote
greg g Posted June 22 Report Posted June 22 Aren't the truck engines shown 33 or so inches long? Kinda difficult to shoehorn in to a car chassis. What are you running for boost when does the waste gate pop? Thinking that high boost at over 3500 rpm might trigger expensive noises. Did you modify the bottom end lubrication? Years back there was a fellow built a similar engine for a pulling tractor. If I remember he had about 7 pounds of boost at 3000 rpm with a 3200 rev limit. Looks great! Hope it performs well for you. Veemoney Posted June 22 Report Posted June 22 The first 2 pictures of the motor you posted showed it with a finned aluminum head. This latest motor picture in the vehicle looks like a black cast iron head. Was there an issue running the finned head? Looks cool either way. Quote
