How to post pics on the New Site

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

1. Load your pictures on a website like Photobucket, Flicker, etc.....

2. Click the Image button on the second line on the tool bar on the forum.

3. A window bar will show up asking for a URL

4. Use the Direct Link code from Photobucket, or etc... It will start with: http

5. Your image (not a code) will show up in the text panel.

6. No need to preview post, what you see is what will post.

Actually we still have attach files so they are stored on the site server. Click on "More Reply Options" on the lower right.

In the new window you will see an upload files button on the lower left.

Upload your files and will get the thumbnail in your thread post. Click on the thumbnail and with pic will open with navigation to the next one if yo had more than one file.

Just trying out the posting technique described in Post #2.

Interestingly, the two files I uploaded show as 388K and 372K on my computer, but only 131K and 155K on the post info.

By the way, who recognizes these fine gents?

Edit PS: Not to be demanding at all, but it would be nice if there was the option to toggle to the next or previous pictures in sequence without closing the one in view then clicking on the next.

If you mouse up to the right corner you will see a "Next" prompt for the next picture. After loading if you mouse to the upper left corner you will see a "Previous" prompt to go backward.

You actually don't have to "see" the next button or "previous" button....just click anywhere on the right side of the image to go to the next image....or click anywhere on the left side to go back.

Well so much for the copy and paste of the image location...seems someone does not want us to do it the easy way.

I'm an old man - I don't deal well with change.

I still have a hand crank cell phone with a rotoary dial.

I think the pix went through.  Now I need to find out how to change my pass word to something a little more manageable.

Gotta try the new forum picture attachment quiz..............works just like on the old forum except the picture shows instead of the URL. No need to preview as mentioned earlier. Present state of my '51 Dodge D39 business coupe.

When I have to learn something new on the computer, I make a post-it of the steps req and put it on the side of my screen. When I can do that without looking at the post-it, I remove the postit. Been doing it this way for a long, long time. It works for me. When I was still employed, I was one of the oldest on the team. The CFO asked if I wanted a computer, I replied, "If you will let me learn at my speed". I used the post-it method to learn. Not even the owner had a computer on his desk, just me and the CFO. Six months later he asked if he could have his computer back, I replied,"yes, but the job goes with it!". Just what he wanted to hear.

Try the post-it method i.e., steps required to post pictures.

Good luck

Their is, when you reply just use the "More Reply Options" on the lower right. You can then upload  directly from your computer.

Great job on the new site GTK. I'm still working my way through it.

I thought that I'd practice by adding a thumbnail photo that relates to a password tip...
