It is a beautiful Dec day here in the Catskills, just couldn't resist going for a ride, here are some views thru my windshield that I would like to share with everyone.

I hope everyone is having as good a day as I am,

Bob

Really makes me jealous of you guys with enough storage space that you can still take advantage of these late nice days. My truck is in rented storage and they dictate when it goes in and when I get it back. The car is 120miles away and it has to go when there's a chance of significant snow or it might not go at all.

I'm envious Bob. My car is on stands in the garage. I have been replacing motor mounts, front engine seal etc. and is still a week or two away from taking a ride. Your first picture looks like it could have been taken in my neighborhood, the only difference is that around here in eastern NC little patches of white on the side of the road are cotton! I'm glad that you can have fun in the car in Dec. Was Cooper with you?

I read your posting this morning on the POC site where you use the "wayback machine" thread. Good to see you keeping everything on the same thread there. Makes your outings easier to follow.

Bob,

I have just over 2250 miles so far this season on the "Wayback Machine" I would like to get atleast another 150 miles on her, that is my highest so far, but this is the fourth year in a row with over 2000 miles on her.

After I posted the first part, I went for another ride this morning, here are a couple of photos. The white building was an old store/garage back in the 30's and '40's Closed up when the reservoir was built in the late '40's and early '50's

Got home early from the office, but not early enough to get Ruby out for a drive. Today was my last chance before heading off to lovely New Albany, OH / Pittsburgh, PA... Hoping this weather stays put straight through Christmas. Love to have the old girl on the road that day.

Still no snow here in central Massachusetts, but I'm not complaining. We had over 140" total last year... every day without snow is one day closer to the first day of spring.

Looks like you had a blast Bob, just keep the pics rolling.

That is what it is all about, driving these old cars, when the weather cooperates.

Cold won't hurt them, it is the slushly sloppy dirty salted roads, that do

There is a tiny bit of snow here, and the roads were mostly dry, but have the 47 in Storage insurance right now. The truck would be getting some drivin, but no lights wired in, no exhaust and muffler, and the heater is on the bench......Fred

Here is southwest Virginia, 65 yesterday, and about 60 today. As long

as this nice weather continues, I will not get my 38 repaired..:)

Once the cold weather hits, my 38 will be up on blocks for about

3 months,...

Nice bright, sunny morning, with the temps in the upper 20's, no salt on the roads, so Cooper and I went for another ride in the Plymouth. Just unbelieveable weather for this time of year here in the Catskills of New York.

Hope everyone is having as good a day as I am,

Bob

some great calendar shots, especially the barn through the windshield. I put it on my screen saver to enjoy. Thanks. We have kids in Maine and these are nice reminders of their country.:)

I just got home from sanding the roads with the town, as we had some sleet this afternoon. Freezing rain, rain and snow are all mentioned thru the rest of the week. I am pleased that I was able to add another 20 or so miles to the old girl today. Right now she is tucked in the garage for who knows how long. I can't complain, it has been a great driving season, not to mention get to meet some forum members for the first time and some again.

Typical west New York weather here. Couple weeks ago had some of that nice, thick, lake effect snow, the kind that makes its own sheet of ice before it even starts melting. And for once Wheatfield (north of Buffalo) got it instead of Buffalo proper, Painting the daughter's Falcon so had the old girl (D24, not the daughter) parked in the driveway for a couple of weeks while I "fumigated" the garage. I dare say she'd never been exposed to that much snow, being a southwest car the first 55 years of her life. Then we had a week of thaw, a couple days in the 20's, and now back to "warm". They've already been putting that "new" chemical down (calcium chloride?) that REALLY eats cars up, so no way I'm taking the D24 on the road despite the urges. Still, winter is good for catching up on the little things that I/we let lapse in lieu of driving.

Dan the snow shouldn't hurt the d24 short term. Just gotta resist that urge to drive. Sometimes I'm glad mine are put away in a manner that I can't drive them no matter what. Of course it'd be nice to have a spot to work on projects during the winter. Oh and I can't wait to see that falcon!
