Hi, after reading AndyDodge's thread with pics of his car, and seeing he has owned it since 71, figured I would post a thread to see how long everyone has owned there cars.

I know Phil form Ontario has owned his 40 or 41 Dodge since 1968, I have owned my Chrysler since 1988, but did not do any owrk on her till 2005, she was out at Uncles place for many years, before I brought her home.

So how long have any of you guys owned your rides?

i always told myself i could not afford to have an old car since i had a boat and 2 hobbies were too expensive. well along comes getting older and having a hip replacement operation[ in 2001 ] and i decided to not only buy a new grand marquis, but also a 1951 chrysler windsor. like usual, the only regret is not having done it sooner. i still have the boat too, and it has all worked out well. i have bought and sold a few cars and i now have the car of my dreams, my 1954 chrysler windsor deluxe convertible. i just drove it from NY to North Carolina. i only have it since 2006, but i had the same model when in high school, so it almost seems as if i owned it that long. anyway, part with the money and enjoy what it can buy you. capt den

I bought my 41 Chrysler Windsor Sedan in 1974 and my 48 Dodge Club Coupe in 2006.

48 P-15. Had her about 2 years or so. Have more plans and ideas than time to actually do meaningful work. Why does everything and everyone else's needs seem to take priority over my "garage time" with my P-15? I'll be lucky if I have the old girl on the road before I "check out"!!

Bought my Business Coupe in 1995; it was a bone stocker then. The original plan was to hotrod it with a Mopar V-8, but then I found out how mellow it was to drive a car that (relative to everything else I have driven) doesn't accelerate, stop, or handle corners well; I just sit back and cruise on. Sold all my V-8 stuff, bought a 230 to build in my spare time, then found an overdrive, an aluminum head, an Edmunds manifold, etc. etc. No regrets at all about how it turned out, even though I still have a long to-do list that I keep adding to.

I got my 4 door in 2002 before I had a digital camera. I have pictures when I picked it up but I'm not sure how to get them on the computer.

It sure has come a long way.

I found some before pictures but I will need some time to post them. I am computer challenged.

be right back. :o

I can't find the really truly 'before' pix.

This is what it looked like when I tried to paint it - and when I had the pros do it. She's come a long way since I first saw her out in a field in the desert in Walker, CA.

Got my 1950 Wayfarer sedan on eBay in December 2004, awakened from a 16 year slumber in a barn. After 3.5 years of sporadic tinkering, got it back on the road in June 2008, have put about 2000 miles on it since. This was not my first old Mopar, however: when I went to grad school in 1966 I bought my first car, a 1951 Plymouth Cambridge. With a rebuilt engine, overdrive transplant, Offenhauser dual manifold, and some paint it took me all over the eastern U.S. until I traded it to a fellow student for a pile of stereo equipment, about 1971.
