  1. JIPJOBXX's post in Now I know Adams can answer this?? How much residual pressure should one have on a brake system at rest? was marked as the answer
Installed one of those devices on the old Dodge and well lets put it this way the unit is on it way back to where it came from.  It worked but 10 lbs was way to much pressure and the drum wound'nt even begin to budge.  Anyway thats that and onward and backwards as I say.  Jon
  2. JIPJOBXX's post in Front right brake spring noise? was marked as the answer
Greased the area's that the springs attached to the shoes and then left the hub oft to see if it made any noise and it didn't.  But when I put the hub back on the screatching noise is there.  So it has't to do with the contact of the shoes to the drums and like I said before they are hitting about 90 percent.  The car stops great but its that noise issue I don't like. Has anyone had this happen to them and what can be done if anything??? All new parts on that axel also!
  3. JIPJOBXX's post in My Horn Wants To Beep Every So Often was marked as the answer
Ok you guys figure it out????  The horn relay was the fault!  Cheap relay where the wires attach to the body of the relay itself is insulated and one of the terminals was not making contact with the inside lead.  In other words the juice was not flowing from point A to point B.  I just soldered the post that was loose on cheap rivet and now it works just fine.  The horn works when I want it to work.  Now for all you electricians maybe you can answer this??? Why when the lead to the ground wire was loose would the horn blow? even when I was not touching the horn ring up on the steering wheel?  Well another problem figured out in the world of my car. Jon
  4. JIPJOBXX's post in Home Made Vacumm Pump For Brakes was marked as the answer
Here is my little set up and it worked perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I have come to the end of the road with my brakes and who said patients isn't a virtue!  Some people here think inside the box and some think outside of the box and I guess I'm the latter.  Anyway thanks for all the help with my brakes this past summer and it was an uphill climb but now they are working just like new 1942 brakes should. Amen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. JIPJOBXX's post in Bench Bleeding M/c In Car???? was marked as the answer
Done done with the brakes!  After all the rework and new parts I have got the answer!!!! I had my wife sit in the frount seat and she said a pray for my old car and you what it worked!  But befor god got in the picture I did rebleed the brakes with my wifes help and just kept going around and around till the pedal was all the way to the top.  I took it out and the brakes worked but were grabbing on drivers side and so I thought if I got any oil what soever on the passenger side this would cause that to happen.  An sure enough I took the drum oft the passenger side and replaced the new shoes with the old ones which were almost new anyway and took it out for test spin and all the brakes are working perfect.  Who said that testing was not the answer to this problem as I beg to differ with that person.  This has been an uphill road but now the brakes are working good and now on to the next problem??  Oh I did rebuild the m/c again and that might have helped but who knows?  Like I stated it has been the perveriable monkey chasing his own tail around the tree but I got it finally.
