  1. On my P15 I was able to weld some short carriage bolts in the grill bars. On some of the tighter spots I had to slice the bracket to get the bolt in.
  2. I usually use large channel locks on the bend. Otherwise try a pipe wrench at the block.
  3. Ha welcome to the forum! My folks have a cabin in WI that we plumbed with pex. However it gets drained in the fall so I can't say we've tested it. My old house had bad insulation and when it got really cold the cold supply to the kitchen sink would freeze. No water would come out of the faucet but it never broke. I would heat it up and then leave the cupboard open until it was a little warmer out. So maybe there froze and then really frozen?
  4. That's an interesting thought because from what I've seen the lines don't break where the freeze happens but downstream because the frozen part expands the water and then causes pressure to build up because the rest of the water can't compress.
  5. It's all about what you can do. I put an overdrive in my 48. Risked my life pulling it out of a rusty 52 in a junkyard but got it for $150. Put a T5 in my 1/2 ton because it was way easier to adapt than an overdrive. Already have another 1/2 ton with the stock 3spd so part of my goal is to not have 2 identical driving trucks even though they are the same body style. That one also has a modern jeep diff. Loren you'll be happy to know I traded a 3.73 diff for the T5
  6. They are the leftover parts that go wheeee as you frisbee them off to the side of the shop
  7. That's my goal too except my # is 4. My 47 1/2 ton has been sitting way too long. Needs a driveshaft to move under it's own power and lots lots more to actually drive legally
  8. Now have any of you heard of a wheeee part?
  9. Yes as Tod says there should be a pickup tube inside there. The line faces the front of the truck and makes a quick zag to run along the frame up to the front.
  10. And I believe you can clock the top if needed to fit in the space.
  11. Wow what a route! Last time it was in the area I met up with the group to meet in person a guy from the 39-47 dodge truck group. Might have to do that again!
  12. My big goals are attempting to reconnect with the people who own our old Falcon and attempt to be it's 4th owner after my parents were the 2nd. Saw them last June and they mentioned they were willing to let it go and had even offered it to my Dad. Lots of stuff happened but when I saw it again in Sept the car show got cancelled before I found them. Other item is of course more progress getting the 47 WC on the road. It needs full wiring and brakes along with fuel line and a driveshaft.
  13. The one only moves a little to move between r and 1 and then 2-3.
  14. Just about done making our traditional swedish meatballs. Enjoy fellas
  15. Truck has hauled stuff many times. https://hosting.photobucket.com/albums/v172/dodgepu1946/my%20dodge/.highres/Dirt20112.jpg Coupe not so much but it did haul its own 3.73 home. https://hosting.photobucket.com/albums/v172/dodgepu1946/my%20p15/.highres/myp15001.jpg
  16. I'm following now. I believe you'll find the boss is there but it's not drilled on the no advance setups.
  17. Should be 2 different things- vacuum advance goes on the distributor.
  18. I did exactly that last fall. I had to cut I believe 2 rows off the small end and 1 off the big. Was hard to do but I managed to push it through the bell and out the other side. Reused my clamps and reassembled the bearings. Can't say how long it'll last as I only did it a couple weeks before winter storage but they seemed nice and flexible and I believe they'll last. 19. Wonder if you could drill the hard ones to soften? Or if something else would soften?
  20. Not sure of that's the exact model I have but I have one and it's awesome. Busted a lot of stuff loose at the junkyard.
  21. That's your carb #
  22. As far as I'm aware that's only available used from donor trucks. Is yours broken or completely missing??
  23. Yes it is but it's a tight fit. You should be able to remove the rear mounts and then tip and twist is down and out of the cab hole.
  24. 39 trucks had a darkish blue and 41-47 were brown. I believe 40 was like 39 with all blue.
  25. Here's an old post where I was experimenting with them
