  1. Yup you need a piece just big enough to go over the 5 studs on the axle housing. Then you put the drum back and use it as a puller.
  2. Today is one of those necessary but boring updates. Spent an hour at the license center but applied for titles for the 47 and 40 trucks. Will find out in 2ish months if there are more hoops are they are legally mine. And only in MN do you get charged a fee for late title transfer on a vehicle that doesn't even have a title in the first place!
  3. Not a lot of truck guys on here but if you have room I'd grab whatever you can. Looks like decent not rusty sheet metal
  4. The video has you using the reamer backwards with the normally chucked end acting as a guide through the existing hole. Then you put a new bushing in that end and do the other side. So they should always end up aligned. This thread got me to dig my project carb out. I discovered the bushings I ordered for my test base are too long for my actual base. The test base has a broken throttle stop so I can't just use it instead. Looks like I'm stuck until I get shorter ones in unless someone has an easy way to cut them down.
  5. One other thing to bring up. I left off on mine at reattaching the plate to the throttle shaft. Mark it's orientation before you remove it and order new screws with your other supplies. I didn't find the same style so I'm going to either cut the end myself to secure them or trust lock tight.
  6. Somewhere on YouTube I watched a video of a guy doing a 4bbl I think a quadrajet. The bushing goes in the drill backwards and the piece that normally is in the chuck becomes a guide. I know I ordered a couple lengths but I think I got one so no trimming was necessary.
  7. I got my bushings and a reamer from McMaster. I haven't finished rebuilding the rest of the carb but the bushings went well.
  8. That's how my 46 is too. I never touch the panel light switch.
  9. You mean you didn't take enough headliner with it for a pattern I did that when I found mine so I can't guarantee it's exact but it was back towards the window not centered front to back. My truck doesn't come out of storage for about 3 weeks but I can measure then.
  10. It's only 80 if you don't preregister
  11. That might be a better question for the 39-47 truck specific group(formally yahoo group). I believe it will fit but I've only owned 41-47 stuff.
  12. The p15 is in WI and the first few miles are all dirt roads so it varies quite a bit on when that dries up. I will have my pickup and 64 belvedere back the 2nd week of Apr. The 47 pickup is here so I do have something to work on but it doesn't drive yet
  13. Sounds like a great time. My stuff won't hit the road for 2 months!
  14. 218 vs 230 won't change that cover. You just need donor vehicle with that same style bell housing
  15. Now why do you charge after every drive??
  16. For oil filters you put a 1 in front for the silver line and a 5 for wix
  17. If you want a great story on conversion gone wrong read up on the gimli glider. Or give a listen to that episode of the dork o motive podcast
  18. Just looked through my build thread and I didn't see that I took a pic of the tank install. It's got snow around it now but I can get a pic next week probably when it's supposed to melt
  19. What engine is that in the Dakota? I've had a 94 since 2000 and done many repairs on it.
  20. Good buy you basically bought the bumpers and got the rest free
  21. 16s would be stock the 18s(never heard of those) and the 20s would be optional. Very common for people to have put later year or car wheels on them. I have one with 16s and one with late 60s 15s. Gotta have some variety right?
  22. That's a fair deal. I've seen overdrives alone for more than the 1400
  23. Same. Not sure those help much with identifying parts needed unless you start going into major rebuilds. T112 should be the original 218 engine for that. Neither of my trucks has it's original engine.

Could be. I just know it is T4. I spent most of my youth shopping at T8 which has been knocked down and replaced. Can you tell I work for HQ?
