  1. Awesome! That is exactly what I was looking for, I just ordered mine! thank you!
  2. My starter went out in my 230 and I was hunting around and came across this replacement starter. Has anyone used one personally in their car? Did you like the results and does it perform well? I am out in the middle of no where and the closest rebuilder is about 85 miles from me and from what I have read sourcing parts for the factory starter is getting harder and harder. My car has been converted to 12v with all modern wiring but my starter was still 6v, if I found a rebuilder I would have it set up for 12v as well. Have also seen rebuilt ones on eBay and Amazon but the reviews aren’t promising. Any input would be greatly appreciated. 3. What is the best manual or source for schematics for the manual 3-speed? I bought this one a couple years ago and it has zero information about the manual transmission. I have tried searching the site but I can only find bits and pieces, I like to get a copy if I can.
  4. I recently started leaking oil between my transmission and the bell housing. I ordered a gasket kit but there was no input shaft seal and I want to make sure I have all the parts before I tear into it. The only schematic breakdown of parts I could find doesn’t show a seal. I am certain that there has to be some sort of packing or rubber seal for the input shaft. Has anyone resealed their transmission and know how I can find the seal I need or what to do? The gasket set I have is NOS and it is all flat paper style gaskets. thanks, Brad
  5. Thanks for all the useful information. I have built many cars but this is is my first go at converting a car to 4wheel discs without a full kit or at least a list to go by. It didn’t even cross my mind to check with Wilwood, I’ll have to check them out.
  6. Eci said they don’t offer a disc/disc setup, only a disc/drum. Hmmm I wonder if I could get the bracket and rework it to make it fit a full disc brake master cylinder…It’s kind of a pricey experiment though!
  7. I just updated my dizzy to the pertronix ignition and it was well worth the investment. The car is easier to start and it is much more responsive. I know they aren’t for everyone but they are a good alternative to help keep them on the road.
  8. I am in the process of converting my 1950 Plymouth coupe over to 4 wheel disc brakes. I have the Scarebird kit up front and a 8.8 with discs in the back. I want to use the ECI master cylinder mount under the floor because it uses the factory pedals and mounts in the factory location. Who has used this bracket without power brakes with 4-wheel disc brakes and what master cylinder did you use? Can you use a manual master cylinder with disc brakes or does it have to have a power booster. Thanks, Brad
  9. I will check the screw length tomorrow and see if the wire only has power when the starter is engaged. Thanks for for giving me a few ideas! If all else fails I will install a manual choke.
  10. I have a question for those of you that have converted their cars to 12v. I am currently replacing the wiring harness in my 1950 Plymouth P19 and I was curious if I need install some sort of resistor that is inline to the automatic choke if I convert my car to 12v? The reason I ask is I was testing the the choke and the wire gets really hot and I don’t want to burn it up. Should there be fuse inline as well? I am using a Hot Rod Wires harness and I just want to make sure I hook it up properly. thanks, Brad
  11. I am new to the group and wanted to say hello and that I have question. I just purchased a 1950 Plymouth Business Coupe about a month ago and I am just starting to go through it fixing things that were just kind of rigged up by the previous owner/owners to get it running. My question is about the column shift pattern, I think someone hooked the shift linkage up backwards and the service manual I purchased really isn’t any help. It doesn’t have any information about the 3-speed manual trans. Do any of you have photos of how the shift linkage is supposed to be to fix the problem? Or is this how the pattern is supposed to be from the factory?
