  1. Yes. We have always had a slow Post Office, items that co-workers got from the union and other things would arrive here 3-4 days later. Now delivery is light and some days I don’t even see evidence the letter carrier came at all.
  2. Mine was similar with a five speed. Bright red, black interior. Traded it on a 302 82 Mustang. Stupid move on my part.
  3. Welcome from me as well. Really great looking car. It will be fun and reliable.
  4. I had a 79 Plymouth Arrow pickup. The idea of the v6 is something I had never considered. I like it.
  5. Hopefully there is still one born every minute.
  6. I personally would just drive it unless circumstances changed. Maybe take a look underneath after a few miles to make sure all is tight and no seals are leaking.
  7. Well we used two twinges and a spasm when growing up but I guess it depends who is doing the twinging.
  8. I have an older Ammco tool that uses a caliper to allows you to set it to the inside diameter of the drum and then using the outside measurement of the tool to set the shoes very close to correct position. I have used it on 60’s and some 50’s cars with success. https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/ammco-vintage-safe-set-brake-drum-52265935
  9. Also make sure your grounds are clean and tight. I suggest as others here have that you put an extra ground from the engine to the frame to be sure of a good ground.
  10. Use the distributor number to order any parts. Not all the same. My experience is if they don't want the number, they don't know what they are talking about.
  11. I drove cars like that in my youth
  12. Very interesting. I really like inline sixes. Was it manual or automatic?
  13. Nice photos.
  14. My first car was a 54 Plymouth so I have a natural affinity for them. Yours looks great.
  15. I have to say I don’t see a reason to install one myself. Six quart system, low (in general) rpms, and who among us doesn’t change the oil probably way too often. I can see if you had a vintage trailer you are hauling up a lot of hills or something but in general with oils today and the usage most of us give ours just another way to poor cash into the hobby
  16. Illinois and certainly Wisconsin used the engine number. My 52 had a WI title before me and IL just transferred it to the new title.
  17. My interpretation is this: Don’t get any silly ideas about getting ahead
  18. I installed a NAPA pump about 15 years ago.on my 52 and have been very satisfied with it
  19. I was always taught about 1/2 inch movement In the belt up and down was about right.
  20. And that is back before JC Whitney became a accessory store. The Rock Auto of it’s day
  21. I keep mumbling to myself about this one: https://www.qualitypowerauto.com/item_24/6-Volt-Alternators-Positive-Ground.htm
  22. And in my case certainly not Chrysler. Although that said I did buy a new Kia Soul in 2012 because the price differential was small and I though what the heck might need the big warranty someday. Someday arrived this week as Kia put a brand new transmission in it.
  23. My “Fancy” took one look at that and ran screaming over the hill
  24. It does sound like an internal master cylinder problem to me. if you gently push the pedal with the cap off does the cup move and the vent return?
