  1. With the health annoyances I have had this summer I decided to have a local shop replace mine and so far(maybe 200 miles) doesn't seem to be leaking anymore at all.
  2. No. I just did a Google search and that is one of the results. I read it and thought it might be worth your time to investigate. The thread mentions old Chrysler books that were used for that purpose. Maybe you can go on the HAMB and contact the poster to see if he has any further information. Good luck in your search
  3. This thread on The HAMB. Has some information regarding identifying Mopar Flathead engine parts by casting number. Might be helpful: https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/help-identifying-mopar-flathead-6-in-my-1936-dodge.1058541/
  4. I’ll have you know I use rubber gloves. No leak through if I trip and fall into a puddle
  5. You might talk to Jon at the Carburetor shop. I don't think there is much about carburetors he doesn't know. http://thecarburetorshop.com/
  6. My Sisson worked well on my 52 but after starting things went south. When I put the Langdon set up on I also chose a manual for ease of installation. Starts with no issue and can open the choke almost fully immediately.
  7. Our fourteen year old Shepard mix has the usual Shepard problems with his hips. He has been on gabapentin for a Few years now. It seems to help him move better when added to the two arthritis(at least I think that is what they are. My daughter the Vet tech gets them through her Vet). He gets two 100mg tabs per day. After I reread my post I realized it could be taken a few ways. Only meant that it seems to be a good useful drug. Then if you want we can discuss my close and personal relationship with Tramadol.
  8. And it works for dogs. Hope it helps you out.
  9. I remember having a difficult time when changing the rear mounts on my 52. No problems like you have had but a lot of push and pull. And that was long before I changed the clutch.
  10. Brake clean? Put down a protective layer, spray off wires and clean residue. Then allow to dry completely before Starting car. That is my thought.
  11. So there must have been a lot of damage to shocks on the gravel roads. Even though I am old I never considered a need to protect car shocks.
  12. Yes. We have always had a slow Post Office, items that co-workers got from the union and other things would arrive here 3-4 days later. Now delivery is light and some days I don’t even see evidence the letter carrier came at all.
  13. Mine was similar with a five speed. Bright red, black interior. Traded it on a 302 82 Mustang. Stupid move on my part.
  14. Welcome from me as well. Really great looking car. It will be fun and reliable.
  15. I had a 79 Plymouth Arrow pickup. The idea of the v6 is something I had never considered. I like it.
  16. I personally would just drive it unless circumstances changed. Maybe take a look underneath after a few miles to make sure all is tight and no seals are leaking.
  17. Well we used two twinges and a spasm when growing up but I guess it depends who is doing the twinging.
  18. I have an older Ammco tool that uses a caliper to allows you to set it to the inside diameter of the drum and then using the outside measurement of the tool to set the shoes very close to correct position. I have used it on 60’s and some 50’s cars with success. https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/ammco-vintage-safe-set-brake-drum-52265935
  19. Also make sure your grounds are clean and tight. I suggest as others here have that you put an extra ground from the engine to the frame to be sure of a good ground.
  20. Use the distributor number to order any parts. Not all the same. My experience is if they don't want the number, they don't know what they are talking about.
