  1. You have been outbid on 1952,1953,1954,1955 DeSoto, Dodge, Plymouth OD Relay (250761500920) Thanks for posting Tim. Oh well, I had hoped I could fly under the radar.
  2. Here's a good site: http://www.1962to1965mopar.ornocar.com/gallery.html
  3. I remember these commercials from back then. First time I saw it I thought it was a Plymouth, but after watching closely, I'm pretty sure it was a 49 Dodge.
  4. Hey, I scrolled down on the home page and see he’s going to be in my back yard in February. That’s only a dozen blocks or so from home. If I can remember, I’ll have to go check him out.
  5. US Army – Europe, 1970-1972 I graduated high school in May of 69, turned 19 in September. Tricky Dick instituted the draft lottery, and in December, they went on TV and pulled the first birthdays out of a fish bowl. First birthday pull – September 14th. I won the lottery! In January 1970, I was in Fort Leonard Wood, MO, doing pushups! My son is full time Army reserve. He’s done a tour in Afghanistan and Iraq. Thanks to all who served.
  6. I would paint the orange Fram filter almond/red like the original one (picture 1), and buy the decal (picture 2) from Osborn or eBay, and install it.
  7. Does this have anything to do with the survey sent to the POC regions a few weeks ago? About being interested in attending a non-judged meet?
  8. From the classifieds in the Plymouth Bulletin: Emergency brake need a little help? I can help fix all years. Most brands in stock for speedy exchange or can rebuild yours if not in stock. Most units run $55 for Ply Club members. Also have shoes for the later drum type. All units exchange plus shpg or $25 core charge. Dennis Cutshall, 29487 Old Lincoln Hwy, Honey Creek, IA 51542. (712) 545-3014.
  9. Fred, yes, that is the speaker at the bottom of your last picture. I had a similar aftermarket radio in my 41 coupe when I bought it (didn't work). It mounted on the firewall above the steering column, just like the one in my 37. And yes, the speaker is inside of the radio in both of these. I’ve bought several model 800 radios on eBay, some for as little as $10. But they are heavy, and the shipping was between $15 to $19. I’ve had 2 or 3 of them repaired, which run around $80 for new capacitors and vibrator. I painted a couple of them up and sold them two friends who wanted a radio in the dash, but didn’t care if it worked or not.
  10. I think it's just like the one I took out of my 37 when I put the radio back in. I'd go out to the garage to look in the glove box, but it's tooo dang hot (another thread).
  11. That is the correct radio for the 40/41. I bought several over the years, and I put one in my buddies 40 Coupe. The difference is between the dial and the buttons. On the dash grill, there is a piece that is part of the grill that the radio fits behind. I won an auction some time back with the little labels that go behind the buttons, with the station call letters. It must have been for a dealer installed radio, because it showed how to cut the opening bigger to install the 802 in the 41 dash. There was an auction for one of those Firestone car radios that ended. Not the same, but similar with the cables. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Vintage-FIRESTONE-Air-Chief-car-radio-Ford-Chevy-Dodge-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem3caf148d0bQQitemZ260635397387QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories Sorry, but for some reason I can attach pictures or create the correct link for the auction. Might be time for a reboot.
  12. I think Todd is right about the capacitors. I just had the radio for my 37 repaired, and got back a zip lock bag full of the old capacitors. The correct radio for the 40/41 is a model 800. I have some paperwork I bought on the Bay some time back, that shows how to cut the radio dash grill to install the 802. At least you can stop searching for a speaker. I can see it in the radio.
  13. I’ve had a couple of Model 800 radio’s fixed for my 41 coupe. My radio guy say’s if it’s humming that’s a good sign, the vibrator still works. I would locate a speaker and give it a try. In the worse case, you may only need a tube or two, but it might just work. He has a source for new vibrators, but they are solid state.
  14. I finally got mine in the mail yesterday! Congrats on the wedding Ed, nice article. On another note, I saw in the region news you guys are thinking about putting in for a meet (Spring?) next year. Several members of the Prairie Region hope you are successful with your bid.
  15. Still haven't received mine either. Must be a mid-west thing.
  16. Here’s a picture taken at the banquet of Mark and I as well as John McCormick (34 Plymouth and some early 30 Dodges), another Prairie Region member who made the trip to Portland. I wish I would have hooked up with Todd. A couple of corrections, my Fury is a 64, and Dennis Cutshall's Fury III convertible is a 69. Also joining us in Laramie was Rich and Karen Gregerson, also Prairie Region members, in their motor home.
  17. You know, Agape Auto is making new sun visors that look like the Fulton. http://agapeautoparts.com/products/products.htm Maybe they would sell you the side brackets and center braces.
  18. I am facing the same thing on my 64 Fury. I have about 300 miles on the overhaul, and plan on taking it to OR in two weeks. I am going to change the oil just before I leave, and will use the same Mobil 10W-40 I have in it now. It was overhauled in 2002, so I'm not worried about the oil in it now, but the same Mobil 10W-40 today doesn't have enough Zinc for the CAM. So I purchased a few bottles of ZPPD on eBay, to add to the new oil when I change it. I think with the low miles on your engine, you might want to consider the same thing.
  19. It looks like it says "Unity" on it, so I bet it's for the fog lights.
  20. Well, I'm still in there twice (which means we still have 100). Adam, any way you can take me out of the NW cornor of South Dakota?
  21. That's all I get. And I didn't get to see it a first time.
  22. Or delete and entry? Somehow I ended up in Ludlow SD. I created a new entry in Papillion, NE (sorry Frank, my head is on top of yours), but I can't delete the one in SD. Lee
  23. Here’s a link to the dimensions: http://www.oldmopar.com/oldmopar/colorchart.html Here is a link to a older post on how Jim did his wheels: http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?t=4719&highlight=stripes
  24. Actually, 41 and 42 used the same hubcaps. The ‘46-48 had the block lettering.
  25. Don’t laugh, I did that once! Son-in-law stopped for gas one night after work, and the car wouldn’t start (99 Intrepid). He called me, and I went over with the pickup and some tools. He had pushed it away from the pumps, so we jacked it up and took off the front wheel to get access to the battery. I found the positive post cable clamp had half dissolved. I had a small c-clamp, so I clamped the half that was still there to the battery post and put it back together. He drove it that way for a few days, until the weekend, and we could put on one of those universal battery clamps on.
