  1. I can always count on you to put a smile on my face Don.
  2. As mentioned above, I think it has to do with the vibrator. When I was having the radio repaired for my 41, the electronics guy ordered a solid state vibrator for a 6V positive ground radio. They shipped one for 6V negative ground system, and when he went to put it in, it wouldn’t work. Took him a while to troubleshoot the problem, and when they sent the right one, it worked great. Now maybe if you are still using the old original vibrator, it may not make a difference.
  3. Thanks Tim/Bob. A panel truck is on my bucket list. Dad had a 49 Dodge when I was about 8 or 9. Don't know if it will ever happen, but it's a dream.
  4. What the the panel truck next to it?
  5. I can' say for Dodge, but I think the Plymouth is a 36. The 36 had the artillery wheels (the 37 had four slots), and the 36 was the last year for the soft top insert. You can just see it in the photo. Also, the headlights on the 37 were mounted on the grill shell, the 36 were still on the fenders.
  6. My brother has a 50 Plymouth fastback. The tail light housings are completely different than the sedans/coupes. He was lucky and found a couple of NOS ones several years ago. He put them on the car when it was painted, and kept the original ones, “just in case”.
  7. Thanks Mark. County Road L, Plymouth County, Iowa. I picked it up at a swap meet west of Omaha for like $20. I thought the L was a good fit. Lee
  8. I recognized that cap right away. I’ve got one hanging on the wall in the basement. Got it out of my uncles barn. Seems like I researched it I kind of remember it was 39/40. Took some steel wool to it, then touched it up with some maroon paint.
  9. Yup, that worked! Thanks, Lee
  10. Hmmm. Pictures are red X's, and the link tells me I have to register to see the pictures.
  11. 36. The 35's had those chrome circles/rings/hoops on the sides of the hood.
  12. Yes, the frames are exactly the same. In fact, a friend in Bellevue is doing the same thing. His 41 coupe had frame damage, and we took the frame out from under a 41 4dr. He has the frame all cleaned up and painted, and is waiting for me to help him transfer the suspension. Lee
  13. My first car was a 60 Corvair. Bought if from the bank for $300, after the previous owner had it overhauled and defaulted on the loan. That was in the summer of 1966. Traded the Corvair for a 65 Mustang Fastback 2+2. Now that’s the car I wish I still had.

  15. Number 16 looks like a 58 Plymouth cap.
  16. I think it’s a 42 (42 dash, rear bumper), with a 46-7-8 grill.
  17. When I bought my 58 Belvedere, the steering box was leaking. My mechanic buddy did this, and I drove it that way for 25 years. I found a station wagon in a junk yard with power steering, and converted it in 2009.
  18. I just had another thought. A friend of a friend is into collecting antique tractors. I guess there is a forum somewhere, and these guys are buying and selling tractors across the country. He mentioned sometimes these guys are looking for something for the trip back (or deliver something on the way to pick one up). He said a guy he knows had a car delivered very reasonable this way.
  19. I'm just off I-80 (middle route). Welcome to spend the night if that would work out.
  20. I was at a swap meet in Greenfield, IA over the weekend. Stopped by a vendor who had some floor pans on display. He said the display parts were for 46-48 Desoto, but said they made them for P-15’s as well. Here is their info: Precision Body & Metal Shapers 225 NE 47th Place Des Moines, IA (515) 288-1603 Gil & Terry Knudsen Lee
  21. The correct designation for a 41 would be a P12 engine. So at some point, the original 201 engine was upgraded to a 218.
  22. How was your meet last weekend? Have a good turnout? Weather cooperate?
  23. I picked up a repo from the Plymouth Doctor for my 41 coupe. He had them at the POC meet in Detroit a couple of years ago. I see them on eBay all the time, vendor is Valley Vintage. Does it look like this:
  24. Jack S. was at an auction I attended here in Nebraska a few weeks ago. He mentioned they only had 6 pre-registered, and the were contemplating canceling. How are things now that it’s getting closer?
