  1. 47 DropTop Did you find your top bows? I was reading the latest Plymouth Bulletin, and on the last page of ads was a guy in North Dakota advertising some top bow parts. PM me if you need his name and number. Lee
  2. Ed, like this one? It’s on eBay item number 330271723968. I think it’s an aftermarket, because it doesn’t appear to have all the detail as most I’ve seen. But they tend to show up quite often. I recently saw a pair on the Bay.
  3. I think some had the rings painted. A member of our POC region has a 42. When I bought my 41 coupe (uses the same caps), we were discussing how bad some of my hubcaps were. When he restored his car 20+ years ago, he found NOS hubcaps. He told me some of the new ones had the ring painted, and some did not. I emailed this guy about these hubcaps, they are 9". I need the 10" for my Special Deluxe. Lee
  4. Boy, first it was the “other” Norm, now it’s the “other” Lee. Hi Lee, I scanned in a couple of pictures I took in Aug, 06, and it looks like it has the “green” windows you are looking for. I called Merrill this morning (he’s the guy I gave the car to), and he thought the windshield was cracked. But he said he would check all the glass. He was the one you actually found it. He worked with a guy who said “Hey, I got this old Plymouth on my farm, are you interested”? So he picked up the car and hauled it out to his place, pulled all the parts that go with the overdrive (the tranny was already out and in the car), and brought it all to a club meeting for me. I took my camera out to take pictures, thinking I might throw it up on the Bay, until I saw it. Pretty tough. He had a guy come out looking for a project, and at one point talked about trading it for a 440. But he said this morning, that deal never came about. So you will probably be working with him. Send me your email address, and when I find out about the glass, I can give you his number. If it’s good, he can pull it, but I don’t know about getting it from central Nebraska to Florida Lee.
  5. Ed, I know, it's just getting around to it. I did order a new overdrive wiring harness from T&Z, so I should have everything I need. Norm, yes, I still have the car. It's on another POC members farm in central Nebraska. It's pretty tough, the floors are all gone. There was some interest from a street rodder who wanted it. Lee
  6. That’s exactly what I paid for a 53 Plymouth hardtop with overdrive. I got the tranny, relay on the firewall, kick down switch, and cable/bracket from the dash. Now I just need to get it installed in my 41.
  7. No, I don’t expect that kind of photo session again. I think that was a once in a lifetime thing.
  8. We're planning on attending. We are going to take the entire week, and do some sightseeing before the meet.
  9. Actually, I think my wife wrote down Manitowoc, WI. But I'm not real sure.
  10. What about spraying it with some clear coat after you glue on your printed items?
  11. I just purchased one of these on eBay, to hook up a 12V NEG ground FM converter to my original radio. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/6-to-12-Volt-Inverter-Booster-Convert-Pos-to-Neg-Ground_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742Q2em153Q2el1262QQcategoryZ38644QQihZ023QQitemZ360064719405 Works great!
  12. We plan on being there Wednesday for the evening tour of the Walter P. Chrysler Museum.
  13. Well, I just got an email from NAPA canceling my order. I talked Denny, my mechanic buddy, and he called his NAPA source, and they couldn’t find one on the shelf in any NAPA store, or any warehouse. So I just ordered the 49 water pump from Rock Auto. About the same money, shipping was a little more. Hopefully they’ll come through. Lee
  14. I need to put a water pump on my 41 (original 201 cu in engine). Anyone purchased one recently? I searched the forum, but only saw water pumps for the 218 CID engines. I looked at the usual suspects (Rockauto.com and NAPA online). Rock auto only goes back to 1949, and NAPA only listed a Dodge Truck for 41. It did have the water pump (NWP 55713) for the 201 CID L6 engine. Is the Dodge pickup engine the same as the Plymouth (could I use that water pump)? Thanks, Lee
  15. Attached is a picture of the 41 Dodge and Plymouth clocks. I was in a yard a couple of years ago, and found a 41 Plymouth 2 door with a P-15 clock in the dash. It had a little filler (you can see it at the top of the clock) piece to make up the difference is size. I had the clock cleaned and installed it in my car (sorry about the dust in the picture). It keeps perfect time. Lee
  16. Sorry Rich, I didn't get back to the Forum before I left for Vegas. But as we left early Sunday morning to head back to Nebraska, I wouldn't have been able to meet up with you. Maybe next time. Lee
  17. Thanks, I like your setup as well. I really like those little wagons. Next I need to get a hitch installed on my 41 coupe, so I can pull the teardrop with it as well. Rich, the show is at the track (see all the details on the WEB site). The host hotel in the Cannery, although we're staying at the Super 8 near the Air Force base. I'm riding out with a buddy in his 70 Coronet convertible. We are leaving in the morning so we can make Phoenix by Wednesday night. He wants to roll in the that group from the MoPower cruise. So we are going 450 miles out of our way just to meet up with them. http://www.moparsatthestrip.com/2007/mopower_cruse.shtml
  18. Sounds like fun. But I’m leaving Tuesday for “Mopars on the Strip” in Vegas. Lee
  19. I read this thread, and the big discussion in some of the others, and I’m interested in trying the diesel oils in my 41. When I was in Wal-Mart, I didn’t see anything made specifically for diesels in all their brands of oil. Can someone tell me the names/brands that I need to look for? Thanks, Lee
  20. It was sunny and 49 here yesterday. The wife and I took the 41 coupe out for a short drive. It's the first time I've had it out since November. Looks like the nice weather is finally starting to get here. Lee
  21. I used these guys too for the title for the 64. Nebraska is suppose to be one of the "tough" states. The bill of sale I got was from Maine as well. The County Sheriff looked at the paperwork and serial numbers, and passed it right through. Lee
  22. Here's the link to Valley Vintage Auto Parts http://www.vvap.com/
  23. I always thought that color red was a darker red, rather than a bright red. My brother has an NOS bezel hanging on his garage wall, and I think based on that, we used Rustoleum Regal Red when we restored his hub caps, bezels, nameplates, etc on his 46 P-15 a number of years ago. I went and got it last night and used some Windex and a q-tip to clean the dust/dirt off without removing any more paint. You can see it’s a darker red. I’ve been using the same color paint on my 41 as well. When I took the center medallion off that grill piece in the photo, the original paint was the same darker red.
  24. I know for a fact those mirrors are correct for 57/58. I have them on my 58 Belvedere convertible. Lee
  25. That would be the Bartlett's in Crete, Ne, who run the club store. Their info should be in the back of any Bulletin, even your older ones. They may even be listed on the WEB's home page. Lee
