  1. Gorgeous car! Welcome to the Forum.
  2. You could always buy a title. I bought a 64 Fury convertibe, and found out later (after I had it painted and engine gone through) the guy didn't have the title. So I bought one from these guys. Worked very well, I now have the car with a clean title and insurance. http://www.its-titles.com/
  3. I use Condon and Skelly out of NJ, have for years. I think they are owned by MetLife now, so you could keep it in the family. http://www.condonskelly.com/ They used to ask you for your mileage yearly (limited to 2500/yr), but they stopped that a couple of years ago. I drove my 68 Fury III to the POC nationals in Calgary in 1990. I just requested to go over the mileage for that year, and since it was for a show, no problem. Lee
  4. I shouldn’t have too much trouble dressing for the era of my 41. Attached is a photo of my dad (front row on the right) with his mother, brothers and sisters. It was taken in 1937 in Larchwood, Iowa. So bibs and a white shirt, and I’m good to go.
  5. That’s me at 16, next to my first car. The second picture is Linda and I, taken this spring at the Iron Post, where the states of South Dakota, Minnesota, and Iowa meet.
  6. I guess I'll jump in. I manage the R&D computer LAB for a telemarketing company. No, not the ones who calls you during dinner (that's another branch of the company), we do the “Press 1” for this, “Press 2” for that. We have well over a fifteen hundred computers with anywhere from 48 to 96 phone lines plugged into each. They are in data centers in different cities around the country. When I started we process 1-900 calls for things like the Psychic Network . Now we do things like process calling card calls, and take all the votes for “Dancing with the Stars”. I’ve been here 14 years. Before that, for 8 years I was a maintenance tech on the equipment for a company that manufactured computer tape and floppy disks. I was “downsized” when the manufacturing was moved over to China.
  7. I have great luck with those nozzels. As soon as I quit spraying, I clean the nozzel with carb cleaner. The little stick from the carb cleaner can fits right into the nozzel, and I never have one clog up. Lee
  8. You must have an earlier carb. That's just like the one on my 41 P-12. I guess you know what year to look for.
  9. My brother bought one of these kits from Grain-It Tech. He hasn't used it yet, but his window garnish moldings (46 Plymouth Special Deluxe 4 door) need to be re-done. We were looking at the edges where the metal wraps around, and it is painted a base coat of gray before it was wood grained. So maybe re-graining your dash like the P15’s where when they were new would meet your color scheme.
  10. I might be able to help with that. A friend of mine bought an NOS one on eBay that was advertised as '41, but when he got it, it was for a '42. Let me know and I can hook you up with him. Lee
  11. Ed, did you score a water pump? Lee
  12. My first old Plymouth was a 49. They are P-17 for the Deluxe, and P-18 for the Special Deluxe. My brother has a 50, they are P-19 for the Deluxe, and P-20 for the Special Deluxe. I’ve heard that all the motors where stamped P-18 in 49, and P-20 in 50. Lee
  13. Good luck. I was looking for a water pump this spring for my 41. First I ordered from Rock Auto, only to have them cancel it because they couldn’t get them anymore. Next I ordered from NAPA online, only to have them cancel it because none were available. I looked at Parts America (Advanced Auto Parts online side), nothing. Checked with both O’Reilly’s and Auto Zone here in town, they couldn’t get one. Stopped by Car Quest, in Omaha, they showed nothing. I was finally able to order one from the Parts Train online. I think it’s a generic one, it will work on the by-pass and none by-pass. I thought it was making noise last fall, but this spring it was fine. So I haven't installed it yet. I also picked up a rebuild kit on the Bay. Lee
  14. I'm planning on coming to WI this summer. Looking forward to seeing some of the forum members again this year.
  15. You'll wonder where the yellow went, when you brush your teeth with "Pepsodent".
  16. Norm, you are right there. Everywhere we go, people want to know about the teardrop as much as the car. They want to see inside, the kitchen, etc.
  17. When I joined the Prairie Region POC back in 1985, several members had those little tent trailers, and went to all spring nationals. So Linda and I bought a used pop-up, put a hitch on the 58, and never looked back. We drug that thing all over the US, even went to the spring national in Calgary in 1990. We bought a new one in 1994, but it was so much bigger, I couldn’t see around it with the old cars. That’s why I got the tear (first attachment) a couple of years ago. We really like it, and you don’t even know its back there. The second picture is north of Memphis on our way home from the fall nationals in Concord, NC last year.
  18. I've always liked the look of sunvisors on the old Plymouths. I got one for my 41 coupe, just haven't gotten it painted and installed yet.
  19. I saw one of these for sale at Hershey last week. It was in one of the red fields.
  20. Rodney, Sorry you didn't have any luck with finding a horn. I know the 40's were mounted on the firewall, but I can't remember what they look like. I saw a couple I'm sure were P-15 horns in my rounds. It sounds like it really starts on Wednesday now. I got the Hershey mid day Wednesday, but Linda and I went to the AACA atuo museum. I guess a lot of the vendors come from Carlisle the weekend before, and I guess I can see why so many pack up early. Tomorrow we start the long trip back to Nebraska. We stopped in Carlisle on the way back to Johnstown, and got gas at the Pilot for $2.69! I hope we can be that lucky on the rest of the trip. Lee
  21. I walked the Chocolate fields Thursday, both the north and south. Friday I wore the wife's step counter and covered the Red, Green and Orange fields. I walked nine miles that day. Buy 3PM or so, a lot of vendors were packing up. I went Saturday morning for a little while, a lot of them were already gone. Met the family and went down to Gettysburg, and guess what, more walking.
  22. Would that be my picture?
  23. I arrived at the first leg of my journey, Johnstown, PA. My son, who's in the Army reserves is stationed here. I can't remember, but isn't someone from the forum live here? Maybe we could get together for a meet and greet. Lee
  24. Hey Bob, I saw your messages. I already gave 47 droptop the info, but I also sent you an email. Catch you guys when I get back from Hershey. Lee
  25. I'm leaving Saturday for Hershey. Anyone going there? Lee
