  1. 60 Corsair. Dad came out of the bank and it was in the parking lot with a for sale sign. Seems the owner borrowed money to have the engine gone thru, and couldn't pay it back. $300 and it ran like a top! It took a while to get there, but I could out run most 6 cylinder’s in town.
  2. I've used Condon and Skelly for years. They use to require you report how many miles you drove every year when you paid you premium. They stopped doing that some years ago. I used to bank extra miles by adding to my annual total. Sort of like having two sets of books. Got to be a hassle keeping track. I just looked at their WEB site(http://www.condonskelly.com/ ), and you can drive your car any time you like. 2. How many miles can I drive my car each year? As many miles as you like! We want you to have fun with your best friend, not limit your mileage. As long as your collectible vehicle isn’t your primary car, you’re covered for leisure use. So go ahead, show off your ride at club events and car shows. And by all means, drive it around town on a sunny day and even to dinner every so often. Your baby will love being taken for a spin
  3. Actually Tim, when I first got the car, I tried to use the access through the floor to add fluid. Seems the master cylinder isn't directly below, I find it easier to add fluid from under the hood.
  4. That was my experience with J. C. Whitney. Only bought the front.
  5. Love the panel truck!
  6. Yup. When I explained they used the "cats eye" on the left, and a regular flat lens on the right, he said "well, you learn something new every day".
  7. Me too. Got them as a pair. Bought a pair of NOS left side lens with the cats eye from a guy on eBay too. Saw him at an auction a year later and told him they were originally used on the left side only.
  8. Now here's a 42 clock: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1941-PLYMOUTH-CLOCK-RARE-/330765213279?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4d03249e5f&vxp=mtr
  9. POC just featured 34 Plymouths in the issue before the current one. They talked about the optional trunk installed by the dealer. Pulled this photo off the net.
  10. I think you can order new Plymouth truck tailgates from this place: http://www.mackhils.com/products-page/plymouth-tailgates/tailgate-plymouth-1937-38/
  11. I have a P-15 clock in my 41. It’s a little shorter than the 41 clock. Someone cut a P15 clock delete to make a short filler at the top. I guess someone could ask Michael Warhsaw to measure it?
  12. Well, I bought my 41 in PA. When I brought it to the court house for title/registration, the inspector (deputy sheriff) looked at the PA title, and went straight to the engine for the S/N.
  13. Linda and I with our 6 grandkids and the 37.
  14. I would say 57/58 Plymouth. The snout (I guess that's what it's called) looks just like the one on my 58.
  15. I did a quick make-over on the 37 last fall. I went to the local sign shop and told them what I was doing. They gave me a couple of pieces of corrugated plastic signs from their scrap bin. I went to the fabric store and found some brown vinyl. Bought the carpet from J. C. Whitney. I wouldn’t pay the prices for the shifter boot and e-brake floor seal (like $80 from Roberts). Went online to Mac’s and bought the e-brake boot and chrome ring for about $12. Same for the shifter boot/ring. Lee
  16. Kind of like the one I saw at a Mopar show last fall.
  17. Not a flathead, but I was putting a new heater core in my 64 Fury over the weekend. I pulled the heater box, and when I took it apart, I found the remains of a cigarette, a book of matches, and an ink pen warped from the heat. When I took the car apart originally, I found a bottle up in the springs under the seat. It still had part of the plain brown wrapper around it. The car was the yard car in a junk yard in Colorado, and I guess the parts guy needed a little warm-up on those cool mornings.
  18. It's on our schedule. Only about a 2 1/2 hour drive for us.
  19. Sorry, never thought about asking to open the glove box to take a picture. I think he said it was a different glove box door for the clock.
  20. The first picture is of a clock in the glove box of a 40 Plymouth coupe. The second I pulled of eBay some time ago as a reference.
  21. Here's a link to an auction coming up in Nebraska. http://www.cornwellauction.com/berg.html Pictures: http://www.cornwellauction.com/bergpics.html
  22. I believe item "B" is a battery cover for an under-the-seat battery. At least it looks like the one on my 37. I think item "D" is the center for item "B".
  23. I just put this together a couple of weeks ago.
  24. On eBay: http://www.ebay.com/sch/seaplym/m.html?_trkparms=65%253A10%257C66%253A2%257C39%253A1&rt=nc&_adv=1&_dmd=1&_in_kw=1&_ipg=50&_sticky=1&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14&_sop=1&_sc=1
  25. Here in the flatlands of Nebraska, it works great as a cruise control. I set on my 41 and it easily maintains the speed between the little towns along the highway. If I come to a little grade, I help it maintain speed with the accelerator pedal.
