I have the same line coming out of my carb on my 41 coupe. It goes to my SouthWind gas heater. I imagine that is the case here. Lee

I've seen something similar in the Bay. They are hinged and swing down to allow opening the trunk.

We’ll be right behind (or ahead?) of you. Four couples from the Prairie Region (Lape’s Cutshall’s, Berkheimer’s, and Stanton’s) are leaving Saturday. John, I think you were a day to soon. I know it was promoted as an all weekend show, but Saturday most were over in Iowa. They had a rally at that race track near the Glenwood (I think) exit. My neighbor has two 64 GTO convertibles, and I know they were in Gretna all day Sunday. Also I saw my brother-in-law (68 Firebird convertible) Sunday afternoon, and he was out there Sunday morning. He said it was a big show, a little disappointed with the swap meet though. Lee

Thanks, but actually, it's a Belvedere. In 58, Fury's only came in off white (tan) with gold side trim. I started using the "Furylee" handle because I had two 64 Fury's (down to just the convertible now), and my 68 Fury III convertible. Besides, "Belvederelee", or "SpecialDeluxelee" (my 41 coupe) would be way too much to type!

Only Lottery I ever won (Yup, December 69)! I was driving around in my 65 Mustang Fastback when I heard it on the radio. September 14 was the first birthday pulled out. In January, 70, I was in Fort Leonard Wood, MO., in the Army. Don’t know what every happened to my draft card. I did find my payment book for the Mustang the other day, my payments were $52.61 for 2 years.

That's where mine came from. They do a nice job. I just need to get some paint mixed.

He's into 41's pretty heavy. He restored a 41 sedan that has one top awards. He didn't restore this truck though, he bought it from one of our Prairie Region members, Bill Leonhardt. Beautiful truck!

I’m not sure about the Teardrop plans. I know there are a lot of them on the net, and on the Bay. The sunvisor was an eBay purchase. It was for a 41 Plymouth, still in the original box, packaged (wrapped) in newspaper from 1951. I have a Fulton, but like the skirts, I need to get it painted.

Norm that would be great! I had one that clamped on the bumper on my 49 years ago, which I saved. But these bumpers don't have near the strength of the rippled 49 bumpers, not that I'd want to do that anyway. But I need some ideas to fabricate something. Thanks, Lee

The wife and I purchased a Teardrop over the weekend. It’s a re-pop of an original 46 Kitt. We bought it from a guy in Lodgepole, NE who is into Chryslers (he had 2 beautiful black 54’s, and convertible and a 4 door sedan), but is in the business of restoring Model A’s. He looked all over the country for an original trailer, and found one in his own back yard in Bridgeport, NE. It needed total restoration, so while he was at it, he made patterns and built 6 new ones. So, now I have to figure out a trailer hitch for the 41, and wire up trailer lights. Now I’m anxious to go camping in it.

I’ve heard some just mount that kick down switch under the dash. My overdrive came out of a 53, and I’m putting it in my 41 coupe. The linkage is different between the 201 and the 218, so the little bracket doesn’t match up. My buddy, who has an over drive in his 53 convertible, says he doesn’t use it that often. So I’m going to put it under the dash.

Well we’re on the subject, a fellow Prairie Region member and I went and looked at a 49 Special Deluxe for sale last weekend. The owner passed away, and his wife took us over to look at the car. After airing up the tires (it hadn’t be started since last summer) and pushing it out to jump start it we finally got it started and took it for a drive. The owner converted it to a 6V negative ground alternator, and the gas gage was rapidly jumping from empty to full, back and forth. Is this related to the fact he converted it to negative ground? Lee

I think when I talked to the guy on the phone, he told me they just designed that particular skirt so's not to cover the ribs on the fender. They really fit nice. I hope it won't be too hard to match that old paint job; I really don't want to paint the whole car.

I say go for it. Here is a picture of one of the skirts I got from Agape Auto on my 41 coupe. They make their skirts out of metal and patterned after the original type. And they’re only $225. I don’t have them painted yet, but I’m really happy with their product. Lee

Papillion is on the south edge of Omaha. We had about 14 inches yesterday. I bought a used snow blower from the mom and pop hardware store years ago for $400. I found out it was the owners (he traded up for a bigger model), and they operated a small engine repair. I still tell the wife that's the best money I've ever spent. I keep telling myself it's March, and it will all be over soon. Mean while, the first swap meet of the season is next weekend in Lincoln.

You may want to email these pictures to them. They sew that boarder on the kick panels. Maybe the master they patterned the tray board after didn’t have it. They seem like really good people to work with. I emailed them before I went to Hershey this year, about picking up a trunk mat for my 68 Fury III (wanted to save the oversize shipping). They asked me if I had the gray plaid or gray herringbone. I knew it wasn’t the plaid, so I told them herringbone. I took a piece of the original with me, and when I got there they had everything ready at the door. I gave them the piece, and he said it was hounds tooth. He went back and cut a new one and packaged it, no questions asked. Lee
