Difference between a P12 and a P15 dash clock??
Furylee2 replied to wolk625's topic in P15-D24 Forum
The P-15 clocks are shorter than the P-12. I have one in my car, a 41 Special Deluxe business coupe. I found it in a parts car on a club member’s farm. If you look close, you can see someone (this is the way I got it) took a P15 delete plate and cut it to make a little filler at the top. The P-15 has 3 lines running vertical on the delete plate to match the dash, the P-12 has two. -
I would go back and check again. If you look at my picture, you will see that L P 11 number in the middle of the frame (top to bottom), on the very right side of my picture. I found that same thing stamped on my 41 coupe frame as well. I forgot to mention, that S/N on the frame in the picture I posted matched his engine number.

That is pretty cool. My 58 Belvedere was built in Evansville.

Stuck here at Farmer Boys. Car won't go into reverse.
Furylee2 replied to 47heaven's topic in P15-D24 Forum
This happened on the 2003 cross country tour. Gut with a 40 sedan (Larry LaBrock?) stopped at Chimney Rock to sight see. Left the car in OD and parked up against a curb. Came back out and couldn't get it in reverse. I suggested picking the rear of the car up and rolling it away from the curb. One of the guys had a floor jack, so we put it under the pumpkin and picked up the rear axel. We rolled it out in the drive, he jumped in and drove it away. He was careful not to leave it in OD for the rest of the trip. -
A friend of mine is doing a total restoration on his 41 coupe (bought it in 64). The headlight switch was the last thing to come out of the interior. He couldn’t get the bezel loose, so I came up with this Sunday. Took me about 10 minutes with a Drumel tool. He called today, worked great! Used a boxed end wrench and it came right off.

Did Plymouth actually ever build a Town Sedan in 1942??
Furylee2 replied to BobT-47P15's topic in P15-D24 Forum
They did. A member of the Prairie Region restored one in the 80's. Beautiful car! He wanted to sell me this car a few years ago. He's in his late 80's now. -
A couple of years ago I had the radio in my 41 fixed (Model 800). Guy fought it for a few days, then remembered it was + ground. He had to re-order the vibrator, he got one for a – ground. After he switched it, it worked fine.

This was our fourth year. And we made our reservations at the hotel for next year. So if we do, I'll make sure I bring it up on the forum. Lee

Well, I thought I found your parts. Coming home from Mopar’s in the Park in MN, we stopped to see fellow POC member Bob Colburn. He just picked up this Dodge, but I just realized it’s a 41. He said he knew about it for years, and tried to buy it. Owner finally decided to get rid of it, so he called Bob. Really rusty, but it has some good parts. That steering wheel is not bad. If anyone wants to contact Bob, here is his info: Coburn's Car Center 75 NW 47th Pl, Des Moines, IA 50313 (515) 244-5976

I never come over to the truck side, except to occasionally check on the status of Paul’s garage. I was at Mopar’s at the Park. I looked at both of your trucks, NICE! Never thought to check to see if anyone from the P15/D25/Pilot House site would be there. Would have been nice to have met up. It sure did rain! We drove up Friday, went out both days. Sunday was a washout, almost all the vendors packed up, and the rest were packing. We set in the gazebo in the park, walked thru the buildings, etc. Finally quit raining when we headed back toward Omaha on Monday. Below is a picture of the Prairie Region contingent. I had the 64 Fury in the middle.

You think maybe they had to change the image enough to not pay trade mark royalties to mother Mopar? Relly like the T-shirt. Drive by Cabela's every day to and from work. I'll have to stop and check it out.

Very cool!

Maybe 42? I think the 42's had those bumper wings similar to the 41.

1940 Plymouth Tie Rod Ends, Inner and Outer Same?
Furylee2 replied to Bmartin's topic in P15-D24 Forum
I seem to remember the difference in the length of the threads had to do with inner/outer. But I don't recall which one got the longer thread. -

I have one of those on my 41 coupe. Got if off eBay a few years ago for like $40. It was new in the box, wrapped in newspaper from 1951. I can’t remember who marketed it, but I have the original box somewhere. I’ve since gotten a nice Fulton, also from eBay. Won the auction for $200 and it was right here in Omaha, so no shipping. I still need to get it and my skirts painted so I can install them.

Thank you Don. That’s been bugging me since I read it. I mean unreliable? Chrysler used them in everything from 33 to 59, and in some trucks into the 60’s. Not to mention fork lifts, airport tugs, and what else?

1940 Dodge Chassis/Serial Number? where is it?
Furylee2 replied to Andydodge's topic in P15-D24 Forum
Andy, I was just helping a buddy replace the frame under his 41 coupe yesterday. He’s owned the car since 1964, it only had 32,000 miles on it. Started to restore it a few years ago, and found the frame was damaged in an accident. After we got the “new” frame from a 41 four door sedan under his coupe, I started scratching around his old frame looking for a Serial Number. Sure enough, it was there. His engine is at the mechanics, so couldn’t really verify if it’s his engine number or not. -
Worked great. The fronts were a little shorter than the ones I removed, but not short enough to make a difference. Besides, who knows if they were the original length. I asked my mechanic buddy about finding hoses before I ordered these, and he said he usually just takes the old ones to the parts store, and tries to find something close.

I bought a set for my 41 coupe from this guy. Didn't take that long to get (I was in no hurry). I installed them along with newly sleeved wheel cylinders (from Hagen's) this summer. http://www.ebay.com/itm/39-40-41-42-PLYMOUTH-P7-P9-ROADKING-P8-P10-DELUXE-BRAKE-HOSE-SET-X3-2FR-1RR-/360778846144?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5400184fc0#ht_3574wt_1342 I wonder if it's the same guy.

That top knob doesn’t really look like the crank for the windshield, but maybe on the convertible they didn’t feel it was necessary for the windshield to crank out. The first picture is the dash of a 37 Plymouth coupe I took in Tucson this spring. The second picture is a shot of my dash in my 37 sedan. I don’t have two ashtrays, the one on the left of the radio is the lighter, the right is the ashtray. Note the differences in the knobs, my early model has the pull drawers.

Not in my opinion. I don't think that car was worth $300. I went up there to look at that 58 (headlights falling out of the front fenders). From the pictures on the WEB, the rear quarters looked good, and I thought about buying it and cutting the back off to make one of those couches. I figured no one would be interested in a 6 cylinder (230 parts for my 37 or 41?) car with bad floors. The channel (lip) around the trunk lid was rusted out, as well as the lower quarters. I could see the ground in front of the back seat. Car sold for $1850! I just can't see it.
