  1. all that great big ad and you have no clue the ratio......lol and if you were to ask, they probably would not know either, computer says it fits....!! as for Franken-gear....putting this in the stock banjo....will not say it can't be done...just too much work doing it including a visit to a shop to cut axles...money/time not wisely spent......getting a larger TOY axle and installing it....odds are the only things in your way here is lack of initiation and imagination.
  2. sounds like your springs are missing...care to share some photos....the buckets when assembled are spring loaded...this spring resistance is what aims the headlight in the manner you preset the screws.
  3. sorry to hear the news Arthur....I and am sure everyone here will be pulling for you. As you get a minute and have the time/strength to check in...I assure folks will want to hear from you.
  4. odds are unless he smoked the coil or the diaphragm is totally shot with rust....the horn can be repaired by cleaning up internally and adjusting the points.
  5. will our current password for the username match the e-mail name internally for log in first time?
  6. in the case the coin landed on tails......?
  7. NO SUBSTITUTE for GOOD TOOLS......
  8. I think with some of the bolts being used from brand x to the flathead there is a slight difference is length where you are just under length to begin with...add a washer here and you lessening your bite further....
  9. yes....sometimes....these will get damaged and will fall out and lost to the world...odds are if in place is good.
  10. people...the vacuum advance IS NOT NEEDED to start and run......nor is it needed to run snoothy to full acceleration/speed....it only is needed if you want better fuel mileage. Take it off completely/leave it on connect if no hole in diaphgram...or not, your call.....secondly if coil fires one dist and not the other....likely not the coil....check to see if the carbon rod in in the cap. It is just a one wire circuit....
  11. excellent.....the perfect little nonsense car.....everyone should have a car similar that is built to some degree that borders nonsense be it in performance or external looks.....good luck with what little remaining work that is needed....
  12. Bob, unless you still seeing the pop up notification to badges earned and displayed on your profile, GTK has found the switches and has deleted these pushes for now. I know these are no longer showing on my pages.
  13. in the New Year.....what is the top item on your play list? Mine is to finish the Morris LCV and thus free me up to get back onto a couple of the Mopars......hopefully alongside this is organized the shop a bit better than it is now and maybe a less wet year for the possibility of taking a few of the cars out for a bit of driving. Being somewhat realistic here, I know well I cannot get to half of what is needed.
  14. Put me and my gift on your heavier hauler list and the Big Red delivery system....(pause and wonder.... what am I getting this year...!)
  15. Oh my blessed are we with mid 70's temps and bright sun....while I may not take the Porsche or the Austin out today, put a few miles on them yesterday....I do have my helment right beside me as I type this...a jaunt down the country roads back of town should prove enjoyable. Merry Christmas to all and to all a MoPar....!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Thanks and Merry Christmas right back at one and all here....if not Christmas, happy whatever it is you celebrate.... I played with the Austin and today put the speedometer gears I swapped against the clock and found I show 53 when actual is 55...show 34 actual is 35....I can well live with that closer than 43 shown and 57 actual it was before.
  17. this was originally shared to me by a guy who spend many years down under but for some reason got stranded in some frozen place with few outlets...think they call it Canada.....?
  18. Godzilla put the car in that tree, he wanted first crack at Bambi...(see movie Bambi meets Godzilla)
  19. now, expect this as the total payout from your insurance taking into account depreciation at a much much lesser value.......
  20. REDD BULL.....it gives you WiiNGS I wonder what would be returned if you ran that tag number.....given the manner and position in the tree....probably the first actual depiction of a CROTCH rocket...............(no apologies....dang it you know that is funny)
  21. speeds of that degree is easily reached and sustained but I do not like the floaty boat of the dampened a-arms and will one day change this to relocating the upper mount to the chassis, meanwhile 75 is pretty dang steady and comfortable speed...mine is a 230, automatic and runs a 3.73 and will shift into high at 50+ just putting your foot down on the pedal. Way more civilized that that 3 on the tree garbage....shifter belong on the floor between bucket seats.....!!!!!
  22. most are till they rip.....just saying more have remarked on ripped boots than successful installs over the bearings..word of caution only....
  23. this is usually the end of a boot...they will get to a point stretch yields to a tear...
