  1. I like! But i have no room for them on my lift. Was thinking the one deck is open underneath, so a set of lights on one side. Maybe.
  2. This! My ‘52 cockshutt 40 does the occasional failure to mesh and makes an awful racket. But its been doing it for 10 years.
  3. They got it for nothing, therefore see no value in it. i heard them mention halfass customs, a manitoba hot rodder. They want a hot rod with no clue where to start. Even brent (halfass) would shudder at the thought of trashing this buggy to build a rod. myself, make it run and drive without doing anything that can’t be undone. In other words, build a survivor.
  4. The rebuilder i used to deal with back in my parts days said the 6 volt starter will be fine on 12 volts.6 vilt has heavier windings. Polarity is also irrelevant. i used my brand new 6 volt starter in my fargo for a few months until engine swap and it was fine.
  5. Original master with 2 ports? Seems odd for 1951. Im assuming its a single master with 2 fittings. you need a dual master to work with the proportioning valve. If you are retro-fitting, might as well go with the whole thing.
  6. Thanks. Here in manitoba there are a few restrictions,so 2 days of thanksgiving are in order to accomodate those that cant attend one or the other. Too bad its going to rain all day.
  7. I just bought a new welding helmet. Sellstrom. I like it compared the cheap one i had. Its like hdtv now…
  8. Balanced is where the spring is tight enough to aid with lifting door but not so tight door wont close on its own.
  9. Did you submerge float in hot water to check for bubbles? at least shake it and see if it has gas in it?
  10. Motor, transmission and rear diff all changed out in mine. 2 wd. 4wd s-10 or dakota would be a better fit than a full size. Body swap is the way to go. Lots of work. i figure 100 hours into fitting the 360/727 into my 1/2 ton.
  11. Some new neighbours want street lights down my road. Hydro of course had to ask everybody’s opinion. I said go ahead, but if you put one up in front of my house be ready to replace the bulb daily. i grew up in the city, and i prefer it to be dark at night. kind of part of the charm. But other new neighbours asking permission to goose hunt in my back 40 was a big suprise. Said go ahead.
  12. Saturday, 100 miles to a charity car show. Was uneventful truckwise, roads rough made keeping the speed limit a little challenging. The Fargo got a lot of attention, the clear coar made it stand out a lot more. Stopped at a friends place, midway home and snapped a photo. I never imagined how much fun this really is.
  13. I enjoy my small town. Even with so many people moving here.
  14. Buy a brake line flaring kit so you can shorten lines as needed. Inverted brake flare tool kits are inexpensive to obnoxiously overpriced hydraulic flaring kits. I have both.i do a lot of brake work. If you coil a brake line, the coil should lay horizintally not vertical. 1/4 line will trap air if you make a vertical coil. has your suspension been thoroughly inspected? Front and rear. If your brake pull still haunts you,it could be a control arm shifting under brake load.
  15. Yup, and the one special tool you buy for one specific purpose. 5/16 square drive for adjusting torquefilte bands. Think i have 3 now. 2 of which are snap-on. Think i can find one? Nope. Not servicing transmission until i find one. Buy then i will have misplaced the filter and gasket.
  16. The offset as mentioned isnt an issue if there is clearance. no different than the drop from transmission to pinion.
  17. I used little grommets. Had to modify somehow.think i widened the groove in grommet. Dont lose the little clips.
  18. I reused my copper head gasket. Copper coat as well. I ran it 500 miles no issues. Has stuck rings though.
  19. I read somewhere the cables in chevy trucks of the same era work.
  20. Still looking for my new 10mm wrench… found my coil of 1/4” nylon tubing i knew i had.been missing for 3-4 years.
  21. Good luck with the purchase! after repowering my 51 i have no regrets. Another member had a steering box,and i managed to tighten up the steering. 60 mph with one hand on the wheel is do-able now. if i was to do this again,my time and money would be better spent on a more conventional chassis. Power steering, power brakes being high on my list.
  22. Cam has a tone ring, with equal spacing. Crank has un-equal spacing to determine firing order. Crankshaft starts the process, cam fine tunes it.
  23. When i was at the dealership, there was a bin with the spacers for the crank sensors. It was a thick piece of paper with a light adhesive. Have to install it when there is no window below sensor. When the trigger window went by it would sweep off the paper button.
